I just picked up a number of guns in a group purchase and included in the lot is an old BSA double barrel side by side. It looks to be an antique and Its in beautiful condition, with a lovely grey patina, no rust, locks up tight. I'm not planning on keeping it as I don't really need another shotgun but I'm not sure how to price it. I'll try and take some pics and figure out how to put them on here later. But does anyone have an idea of a ballpark figure what something like this would usually sell for?

I have one of those. I think originally they were all blued, both barrels and receiver, so if it's going grey, it's probably seen a lot of use. There were a few variations, depending on when it was built. For a well used one, I'd say around 6-650. If you get around to posting pics, include a close-up of the proof marks. I might be able to give you an idea of when it was built.
I have an old Ford, the blue paint is faded. what is it worth? Beautiful is not a recognized gun condition per NRA grading. It could be anywhere from $200 to $2000 ( highly unlikely), if you want an educated value estimate you need to supply much more information and some detailed pictures and a detailed description. J

Best I can tell it was made in the early 1930's based on the M proofmark on the bottom of the barrels. It was certainly blued at one time, but blue is now patina grey. On top of the chamber is the BSA 3 guns and says " Made by B.S.A guns, England
Looks exactly like this one, just a bit more Patina And a few handling marks on the wood. If I were to give it an NRA rating it would be good/very good condition especially consideri g it's age. Only real defect I can find is it's missing the bead.

It certainly has it’s share of cleaned off pitting marks plus some pitting on that right barrel at the chamber and the gun has seen lots of use to judge by the stock and forend finish wear and marks not to mention checker wear. Good condition would be giving it free points imo. Very good? No way. At best it’s fair condition.

Do you have a reference to date code charts for BSA guns such as the "M" referenced on the barrels? I have guns serial numbered between 4702 and 42406, but have never seen dates in the literature except "made between 1919 and 1939".

There is also a peen mark in the hinge pin on the left side. Looks like somebody maybe peened it in looking to take up some play?
That's actually not a peen mark, it's just old dried lube. It buffed right out lol.
