Tavor vs XCR-L

My ACR is 9.7lbs Fully kitted out with 18.5 Inch barrel. dont know were you get 9lbs Dry from ?
Just from reading threads on here.
9lbs for the bare rifle, then a couple of more for loaded mag,and scope.

Maybe that’s just in its factory form, no aftermarket parts.??

What the hell did you have on your XCR? My ACR has a heavy 18.5" barrel, and even loaded with Elcan, Peq-15, and Scout light it wasnt that much!!!

XCR-L keymod,HB, SHV 5-20,CTR stock,10 rnd LAR mag, magpul MS3,
Was about 11 or 12 lbs.

Great for bipod, but offhand ,it was good for a few shots, then it got spotty.

OK if your just a dirt shooter:)

100yard 6" steel mostly.
Can you hit a 6 inch Target,10 shots fired quickly, off hand?

I’ve never tryed it myself.

I found my Keymod HB, with all the gear, would waver around .
Ok for 6 plates I guess, but not the best for hunting or Target shooting ( groups).

I have a 6.9 lb rifle now and it feels way better.

I have both, plus an x95. All stock, but slowly being upgraded.
I find the XCR heavy. Great bench gun, but it became a bit of a drag when I used it as my coyote gun.

Tavor took a bit of getting used to. I find it lighter (the X95 more so), accuracy was almost if not as good as the XCR. As with everything, choice of ammo counts.

My personal choice? If I had but one gun to carry, it would be the Tavor hands down (maybe the X95...not enough rounds downrange to say for sure yet). I like the build of the XCR, but the Tavor is smaller, lighter, and I can manoeuvre with it better. Plus, it's cheaper secondhand.

5 or 10 round pistol mags, because it is heavier very little recoil.

I use something similar to this.

I just read this in Calabre,
Do you have light weight aftermarket parts on yours?

Nope all pretty much factory. Except for Handguard, Safety, Trigger, Brake, CH and Extractor. The rest is all original.

Caliber tested the DMR...lol... that thing is just gross...lol...

I figured you were basing your crazy-ass weight comments on the DMR. DMR IS an overweight beast. DMR vs the 'standard' or 'enhanced' ACRs are very different animals. My 16" and 10" ACRs with the standard folding stocks and polymer handguards don't weigh much more than similar-length ARs.

Add maybe a pound more for the NR barrel... either of my ACRs with the NR barrel mounted are probably still no heavier than my C7 clone.

The reason I listed polymer frame as a con, is simply my preference...I much prefer the feel of metal over plastic is all.

The more I think about it, the more I think I'll simply have more fun with the bullpup in a NR barrel length. Really I want to go x95 because of the size, styling and trigger and wouldn't even be debating if it wasn't for the accuracy reports. I am not interested in bipod or bench shooting...been there..done that..not my bag.

Someone mentioned a medium barrel XCR keymod? I only see two options? The pencil barrel looks...delicate.

Does anyone here run LAR mags with success in their 2.5 tavor or x95?

Battle proven is a misleading term. Just because it's been used in battle doesn't mean it's great. I've heard many reports of the $3000.00 gun not being all that reliable.

Very true, but the XCR has never served anywhere with anyone. The Tavor has shot bad people, likely on a daily basis.

I have both, and I really like them both for different reasons. My xcr is more accurate, much nicer trigger. Tavor more fun because of the design, ergonomics work for my 6"1 frame. Xcr has more parts, for whatever reason. Friends xcr with about 15000 rounds still going strong, firing pins etc replaced. Ford vs Toyota. Get both, they are fun in different ways
