Ontario Transfer Wait Times?

I bought a pistol on Tuesday picked it up the next day Alberta to Sask. in Lloydminster, now for the crazy part I can take my restricted to an approved gun range anywhere in Sask. but I need an ATT to go across town to the new range on the Alberta side the CFO said if I got a ATT 3 times in a month they would put the location on my RPAL.
Common sense gun laws?

Called the CFO office today, a transfer officer answered and finalized the transfer over the phone. I should have called there 2 weeks ago. You have to wait on hold twice or longer but it's worth it.

Ontario to BC private transfer = 24 hours. I am still waiting for dealer transfers from Bullseye (ordered boxing day), and ArmsEast (just after Jan 1st). Nice lady told me they are still working on November transfers, and not enough manpower to handle the demand.

Bought a pistol on December 27. Just called Ontario CFO and was told no one had looked at the transfer yet, but that they would give it to a supervisor and ask them to expedite it...we'll see.

So I called the CFO just before 11, and Cabela's called me six hours later:

Guy at the counter said they've had no transfers for a while and then this afternoon they suddenly got a stack. Anyone waiting in Ottawa, it may be your day.

I can't believe the approval times keep getting worse. There aren't too many consumer products where you lay out the cash first and wait 2 months before you're allowed to have your item. You'd think that if the same person has been approved a billion times over the last 20 years that the speed of subsequent transfers would improve. Nope, it's like I'm a new firearm owner every goddamn approval. !@#$% ridiculous and I don't see it changing, ever. Apparently it's a "those gun people can wait" kinda thing.

I cannot verify the legitimacy of this, but the guy at Cabela's told me the RCMP once had 14 people processing transfers and doing the background checks, and now they have one. One person. That said, when I called the RCMP initially, the transfer was still waiting with the CFO, so....who knows.

He even said, "It's almost like the RCMP doesn't want people having handguns." ...well, who knew...

I've talked to one guy there when I called to do a transfer, he said they are not replacing people as they leave. That said, it was refreshing to hear that they are as frustrated with it as we are, they don't like people calling them 5 times a week asking about the same transfer, and complaining about the same things over and over, they would rather just do the transfers and have everyone happy. There is definitely more that one person doing transfers there, so the Cabela guy might just be trying to shift blame a bit. I've talk 3 people doing the Ontario transfers... an older sounding woman that must smoke 5 packs a day, a young woman that sounds delightful, and my friend Andre that's been there "tirty years who spent his last #### a long time ago so has no more ####s to give" (he's the best if you can get him).

When your private transfer is over 10 days you call the ombudsman's office of Ontario and you report to them that the cfo's office is not holding to the standard of 10 days for private transfers. you give them your reference number and your pal number and ask them to enforce the service standard of 10 days. The cfo's office has set the standard at 10 days when they don't meet their own standard the Ombudsman will have your transfer likely within an hour.

I have done this on no less than three occasions
