Anyone Remote Want to Host Me for a while?

WL..........how are your carpentry skills? We may be able to work something out, as I have an old house I'd like to gut and renovate into a rental property, if you have the skills for such a job.

Out my west windows you look out upon 60 miles long and 5 miles wide of Kootenay Lake full of rainbows, dolly varden, kokanee and gerrards. Out my east windows all you can see is mountains as far as one can venture it's crown land and mountains full of elk, deer, bears, cougars and turkeys. Oh ya, and my own private 100 mtr range with bench and back board.

I'd be willing to supply room and board, vehicle, fuel and some pay and all the guns and ammo you ever wanted to shoot and try. The boy and I also shoot some lively rounds of trap in the pasture. I have a 26' inboard boat, a 16' outboard, a new inflatable and 2 Yamaha wave runners for the water side of things, the boat ramp is 1/2 mile away. For the mountain side I have an Argo, quad, 2 Ranger SXSs and two horses with full tack.

I'm now retired so I believe in a little work and lots of play and relaxation time. I've done my 80-90 hour weeks for too many years so now I really like my 20 or so hour weeks, if you get my drift.

I thought you had children and by extension a wife or significant other.........are we talking the family or just you?

Douglas

Heck, I've lived in Canada my entire life and would jump on that if I didn't have a wife/kid and could put my career on hold for a couple years...

Heck let me know when the rental property is up for rent I'll jump all over that .

Norman Wells would be serious up to speed for an Aussie. Especially this time of year.

Years ago in a rye fueled BS session a guy told me he had the last pack of smokes in Norman Wells and some guy grabbed it out of his shirt pocket and like all his drunken stories it concluded with "so I grabbed that c##ksucker by the throat".

After reading this I am thinking I might switch my fishing trip plans this summer from Shuswap to Kootenay!!

Welcome anytime Spank, always looking for an excuse to take the boat out. It's just too big for me to handle loading and off loading by myself, two guys it's a breeze though. Trade ya for a goose hunt this fall......

While that is certainly colder than what my friend dealt with, we were sleeping in a tent(with no stove or heater), so I'll call it a draw. Lol

WL, can't go wrong with c-fbmi's offer. Hell I just graduated and haven't looked for a job yet, if it wasn't for the wife and kids I'd want to go help him! I've got carpentry and demolition experience...

He won't need a work permit 'cause we won't be WORKING, he'll just be visiting and helping out a buddy with personal renovations on his private property...........

Wouldn't hurt to look into getting a visa though. If he decides he likes it here it would make staying around and moving about the province/country easier.
