Anyone Remote Want to Host Me for a while?

Welcome anytime Spank, always looking for an excuse to take the boat out. It's just too big for me to handle loading and off loading by myself, two guys it's a breeze though. Trade ya for a goose hunt this fall......

Thanks for the invite Douglas! Thats very nice of you and I may just take you up on it one day. This summers trip was planned already and the gf and I are supposed to meet up with PA and his gf and join them for a week.
I have a brand new 19’ Targa with a 150 Merc, 9.9 Merc Pro Kicker, Motorguide Xi5, Lowrance Elite 7TI and Hook 5 fishfinder /chartplotters with Canada/Alaska Navionics + cards and two new Scotty electric downriggers and none of it has seen a drop of water yet!! Straight into storage in October after purchasing!! Shuswap was supposed to possibly be a shakedown cruise.
I think what I’ll do is add Kootenay to the bucket list and get there asap. You’re always welcome to come hunt geese. And if that Aussie lad takes you up on your offer bring him along too!! You might as well bring Looky too, could you hear the whining and crying on here about him being left behind at home with the wife while we all got to hunt geese?!

You know I booked my summer holidays off for this Schwapp trip ............... don'tchah?...........................:pirate:
I took awl summer awff.

How were you planning to hit Shwapp with a 10’ flat bottom and a 5hp? I’m sure you’ll take next summer off too if you survive the Shwapp this summer in the SS Minnow!! ;)

WL..........how are your carpentry skills? We may be able to work something out, as I have an old house I'd like to gut and renovate into a rental property, if you have the skills for such a job.

Out my west windows you look out upon 60 miles long and 5 miles wide of Kootenay Lake full of rainbows, dolly varden, kokanee and gerrards. Out my east windows all you can see is mountains as far as one can venture it's crown land and mountains full of elk, deer, bears, cougars and turkeys. Oh ya, and my own private 100 mtr range with bench and back board.

I'd be willing to supply room and board, vehicle, fuel and some pay and all the guns and ammo you ever wanted to shoot and try. The boy and I also shoot some lively rounds of trap in the pasture. I have a 26' inboard boat, a 16' outboard, a new inflatable and 2 Yamaha wave runners for the water side of things, the boat ramp is 1/2 mile away. For the mountain side I have an Argo, quad, 2 Ranger SXSs and two horses with full tack.

I'm now retired so I believe in a little work and lots of play and relaxation time. I've done my 80-90 hour weeks for too many years so now I really like my 20 or so hour weeks, if you get my drift.

I thought you had children and by extension a wife or significant other.........are we talking the family or just you?

Douglas

Jeez that sounds good. Need any electrical work done? My kids are noisy but my wife's a pretty decent cook.

You hear a lot of Aussie accents here. Can't be too difficult to come. Tourist business seems to attract them. Buggar though, when they marry a local and take them home. :)

Grizz

Slamfire....Do you work for Revenue Canada by any chance? Like I said a buddy can come and stay with me for as long as he likes and if he helps me with my renos then that's even better !!!

I am thinking more like CBSA or Customs and Immigration unless they are one and the same nowadays? Watch a couple episodes of Border Security. Slamfire is right. Even doing the woofers thing ( work in exchange for room and board) requires a work permit by law. It’s amazing to see how many they turn back at the point of entry on that show.

Nah mate, I do have a Young fella (7) however He lives with Her , around 12 hours- one state away, So in short- Theres plans in place which Allows me to Do a fair bit, unfortunaly that means not seein TYB very often, but school holidays.... Ideally, a most of the year Stint in places suits.

I'll respond via PM Douglas , Appreciate the post!

I'd look into the Permit for sure, I know a fella from my home town is now living in Alaska somewhere in a small town, he's names Patrick (Pat) if any Alaskans know of an Aussie lad around 26-+..

Anyway, he did the whole process, I think it took some time but he wanted Residency in the long term, but I believe went about the basic work visa with whatever term it is while the big one was processed.

Woofer... mmm I really don't like fruit :D
