CZ Warranty

That is news to me! There has not been any discussion between Wolverine Supplies and CZ about taking over existing CZ warranty claims. We have had no communication from Grech regarding taking over their existing claims. It would seem logical to me that they, Grech, complete their claims as they will already have had communication with the customers and I assume if required, they will already have parts on order from CZ.

It was not the intent of Wolverine Supplies. to take work away from Grech, we had always assumed that they would fulfill their commitment to CZ.. Wolverine supplies start CZ warranty 1st Feb how can we take over existing warranty claims, that, as some claim, go back a year! How would we sort out what parts have been ordered and what claims they are against?

In my opinion:
IF and it is a very BIG IF, we were to take over pre-existing claims it would make sense to me that all outstanding claims are returned to the customer who then resubmit to us. That way the customer knows exactly what is going on, we plan to document all claims received against our issued return authorisation number We cannot accept warranty claims if that return number has not first been issued. Your warranty claim time would restart when we received your claim. Guns will be photographed so there is no later dispute over condition and all included accessories noted, like trigger locks, cases, spare mags, slings, scopes, manuals cleaning kits etc We will not be responsible for included accessories if they are not relevant to your claim. We will need exact written details of the problem, if applicable the brand of ammo used, spent casings etc The original Bill of Sale, or copy. We can't work miracles, we all fully expect to receive CZ firearms from time to time with no details which puts us in an impossible situation.
.

They told me the same and I agree with Wolverine. I asked Grech to send my stock back since they are refusing to complete the work and are sending my rifle to a third party to whom I have no contract with. I can’t comment on the conflict between CZ and its Authorized agents, but my personal experience with Gretch outdoors is just aweful. I can see some lawsuits starting up with what? Four parties being involved in this CZ warranty mess that is going on in Canada. I think Mr Wolverine is right to insulate himself and I wish him good luck.

Thank you Phil, your comment means a lot to me. :)

In answer to an earlier comment, I can assure everyone that there was a lot of head scratching before we committed to been the CZ UB warranty center. CZ UB have "courted" us for a long long time! We never viewed this as a money making venture, certainly not a "Chocolate sandwich". I personally have never been enthusiastic about this venture, I am concerned that we will have problems meeting everyone's expectations with out "Loosing our shirt". Also we can only offer a warranty service in support of those firearms that have been legitimately imported by CZ UB authorised distributor's. All models from CZ USA will have to go back to the US for warranty. One word of caution here, the Scorpion EVO 3 is made by CZ UB and marked "US" this is the exception, depending of course, who it was purchased from. There may be others, I do not know, but it would be a good idea to check with your retailer before making a purchase. "Proof of purchase" will be required with all warranty claims.

We hope our efforts will support and strengthen the Canadian Firearms industry, the emphasis on "CANADIAN".

Mr Wolverine I have questions and I hope you or CZ can clarify. The CZ warranty certificate states the customer has the right of remedy of a defect regardless of where he/she purchased the product. Would be fair for the customer if they incur additional shipping expenses/extra legal paperwork having to send it to another warranty centre in another country, especially if there is one here? Same product same company. I get it buy in Canada, support Canadian business and so I have to agree with what you are saying in that regard. But that is not the issue. The issue is with the agreement between the company and customer and now a third party (wolverine) saying they won’t honour the warranty certificate. Wouldn’t that be up to CZ? Are they hiring you? Without being too nosy, please educate me. Consumers deserve clarification on the contradictory here. It may also be unfair to those that bought from CZUSA already or bought one from a canadian retailer without knowing and I am glad you are upfront about it so others can make an informed choice in the future. CZ needs to do more work on this, sorry it falls on you.

Also, are you aware of any CZ Canadian Warranty Centre’s that have done warranty work on CZUSA Firearms? Does or can CZ authorize this?

Wolverine, thanks for taking CZ on I hope they treat you guys well. If this doesn’t work out that will be really sad because they make fantastic factory firearms and I’d hate to see them die out in Canada.

You are putting us between a rock and a hard place, but I will try and answer to the best of my ability in an open and honest way.

Wolverine Supplies has a contract with CZ UB to take care of warranty repairs for products from CZ UB that were imported into Canada by CZ UB authorised importers. This contact does not include CZ USA products or "grey imports".

Wolverine Supplies has never said that CZ USA products or "grey imports" do not have any warranty, only that those products are not the responsibility of Wolverine Supplies.

If you own a CZ product and have a warranty claim your retail store should be able to point you in the right direction.

We will not accept any returns with out an RMA. We will have an on line form that has to be filled out before we will issue an RMA. Our intent is to have this up by the end of Jan.

Warranty does not cover shipping to us, I think you will find that this is a normal practice with all commodities. Wolverine will cover return shipping back to the client. If a claim is found not to be covered under warranty we reserve the right to charge a handling fee and return shipping.

I can not comment if previous warranty centers have taken care of CZ USA products, as I have stated, it is not relevant to us.

I hope that clarifies the situation, if not please ask more questions. We aim to keep this process as transparent as we can and we believe good commutations' with clients is the first step.

I just bought a CZ 527FS from you. Will it be covered? :p
Just kidding. Your transparency is great and I appreciate it. I'm happy to see you take this on.

Good luck with this!

Thanks for sharing that. If it wasn’t for the horrible experience I had with Gretch I would have been oblivious to all of this. It’s way more complicated than it has to be and unfortunately the customer is the one left without full disclosure and in the end most of the responsibility is put on the buyer. So yeah, great product but buyer beware..do it right and you should be fine. In reality just getting it over to you guys and getting this kind of response is the most positive thing so far.

Thank you for your vote of confidence. It is not as complicated as it might appear, our aim from the start was "KISS" "Keep it simple ?" already we are receiving guns with no RMA, this doesn't help us! We are not trying to be bloody minded, we just want to set up a system where everyone knows where they stand. We have already posed many "What if" questions to CZ, like if a product is discontinued, what if the wait for parts is unreasonable, we hope to have some clear policy's in place that will make the whole process run smoothly. The aim of Wolverine Supplies is to support CZ UB by providing a top service to Canadian dealers and their retail customers. I see no reason why this will not be a win win situation for all concerned. Please be patient, I am confident we can achieve the impossible :) but we can't work miracle's, and I am sure we will have some growing pains in the beginning.

It just really pisses me off that Gretch has hijacked my Ranger stock (bought in Canada retailer told me to call Gretch). Keeping it for six weeks, refusing to do the work, making me pay the shipping back or they are keeping it and sending it to god knows where. I have enough of a hard time dealing with Veterans Affairs, I am going to need a law degree to deal with this BS too. I don’t use my veteran status that often, but you shouldn’t treat any customer like that. It’s just for me that wound goes a little deeper.

Thanks guys. I am waiting for two CZ 527, 223. From you guys, Should be here Friday. Thanks for being there for us.

Day two of being the CZ Warranty Centre....

We have our own in house gunsmith Dave who has been with us for approx 4 years. Part of the deal with CZ UB is that CZ UB would have Dave visit then so he could be brought right up to date before we started any new CZ warranty work. Circumstances outside of our control have advanced our "start up" date and now CZ tell us they they can not look after Dave until late Feb, all in all we are going to be of to a slow start, which was not intended.

We also have to order spare parts, all major parts require a Czech export Licence, so further delays. We are also expected to purchase (pay in advance) for all the spare parts we keep in inventory, it will be differcult to know what to order until we have a "history" to work from. We do aim at doing a proffessional job for CZ UB but it will take some time to start up.

We plan on ordering parts at least once a month, a lot will depend on how long it takes to get Czech export licences approved and how long it takes CZ UB to ship.

We plan on doing our best and keep the whole process as transparent as possible.

Does Dave have formal education as a gunsmith?

Anyone else having problems getting their unrepaired guns back from Gretch? Been at them now for 3 weeks and no reply.

My warranty is good till Aug 2018 but at the rate they are moving it could expire.

John any thought on what people will do if they have had their guns at Gretch so long and the warranty now is expired?

I have had my CZ Shadow2 with Grech for 14 months, they say they will send it back to me, I hope it doesn't take another 14 months. Knowing what I know now, I would never have sent it to them in the first place, I would have just sold it for parts. Thank goodness a reputable form like Wolverine is now involved.

Mine was there for 7 months and the new parts had not even been ordered. I ordered the parts from Kentucky and did the work myself.
A good example of a company biting off wayy more than they can chew.
