BCL102 Optics - whats your choice/opinion

I got a viper pst 4-16x50 gen 1 and a vortex cantilever mount

However I still don't have my gun and am losing interest in the project plus new house so I'm leaning towards selling it and all my accessories still BNIB when it arrives next week!

How do you like it on the 102 as that was what I was planning on putting on mine when i get it, albeit the HDMR2.

I haven't shot it yet. But the weight is pretty good! I have a bull barrel on mine so offhand shots will be challenging. When I shoot through the barrel, I'm gonna spin a carbon fibre on and it'll be g2g.

Hey Fellas,
I have to pick an optic for this rifle when it shows up in a couple months. I'm wrestling with a long range vs Close range selection.

I'm a fan of Vortex. I have a Viper HS-T on my 223 and really like it so my choice at the moment is either a 4-16 or 6-24 HS-T.

I see a lot of guys putting "AR" style 1-6 ish "close-in" style optic on theirs. To stay with Vortex as an example - a Strike Eagle or similar.

What sort of range would this rifle support? I'm looking for opinion and experience from you guys.
Let me know.

If vortex, then at least step up to the viper line.

I have a Strike Eagle 1-6 for mine when ever the third pre-order ships! I have never used one but was surprised of the weight with the one piece mount. . 1lb 9 oz give or take! Seems to be a nice clear optic ideal for 2 eyes open target acquisition. It is a bit stiff to zoom in and out. I hear this is a Vortex thing.

Bushnell Elite 6500 1.25-8x32 in a GG&G 35M QD mount.

I like it.

Cheers
Jay

Where did you get the rubber butt pad from?

Currently mine is sporting a spare Bushnell 4500 6.5-24, I may swap my bushnell HDMR once I actually have time to shoot it.

Running a vortex Strike Eagle 1-8 on mine and really like it. The BDC reticle is good out to 570 yards for the 308. I haven't fired it the far as my range isn't that long but I've shot out to 300 and it's been pretty good. My typical hunting range is 50-200 which makes the quick throw lever awesome for quick transitions from CQB out to 200-300 yards. Set this up as my do it all Rifle.

The rubber butt pad came on the FAB Defense GL-CORE Stock which I bought from Wolverine. Oddly they went from $46.95 to $92.95 in a couple months. Interesting price jump.

I currently have a Vortex Viper HS 4-16X50 BDC mounted, but I will be changing it to a Vortex Viper 3.5-10X50 BDC, as I intend to use this rifle for hunting. Bulls Eye in London is selling them for $325, a steal as these originally listed for $550-$600, but Vortex has discontinued them. I have 4 of these riflescopes on my hunting rifles, and for the current price they are exceptional value.
