7.62x39mm shortage???

Buy it cheap stack it deep, still have 5 unopend crates of rusky surplus bought it on sale 5 years ago for 179.99, and about 4000 rounds of no corrosive when was on sale at canammo in '14, I learned along time ago to buy as much as you possible can when it's cheap, I remember when I first got my license in 98 buying boxes of 48 303 British surplus for 6$/box down to 400 rounds of that.. Lol

Damn right. I find the sks is forgiving if you have a 762 AR stick with Norico in the Silver boxes or Russian in the green tins. I got 1000rnds of loose stuff from a very nice sponsor and it jams every 3rd round (random loose chinese)

Where is the best(cheapest) place to buy brass? Does the extractor tear up the cases very much? Thanks.

X39 brass can be hard to come by. And pricey when you do find it. One good thing about it in my guns anyways, doesn't seem to stretch the brass much at all. I have one lot of win brass that's on it's 8th firing and besides the original case trim after sizing, I haven't had to trim the brass at all.

I do reload for sks, and not too hard on brass, but when the grass is long can be a pain in the ass to recover all of it... Lol

It's definitely not as plentiful or cheap as it used to be. Last 1440 round crate I bought still has the $199.99 sticker on it, will be hard to convince myself to spend $300+ when I need another one.

Got 10 crates in Freddy almost exactly a year ago, went on a road trip! $225 a crate for 1440 ends of Chinese, even though they were adverting it as Czech!! $265 taxes and gas in to my door! Me and 10 crates of x39 in the wife's Honda Civic still got 6l/100 k on the highway!

I'll take it from you ;)

I put 20 crates of Czech in the back of my wives mini van many years ago. I went to buy a few crates and ended up with 20 at a cost of $3500.00 all in. The 1200lb did weigh the van down a bit, but who can't use 24 thousand rounds.LOL I did sell/shoot a lot of it, but still have a bit remaining.

I can't find any non corrosive ammo at all, kinda want me to get rid of all my red's collection in that caliber. I don't mind to pay for 223's price but must be non corrosive.

Somebody in Canada need to start make that caliber.
