The new Tikka T1X Rimfire

I would ONLY consider buying if the barrel is threaded in to the action and not held by a pin. Same goes for CZ 452 vs 455.

What is so important about a threaded action and barrel? The high quality and most accurate Anschutz and Walther 22's are not threaded.

Not sure how I feel now knowing the barrels are not threaded in. I don’t care for set screws holding barrels in place

I am sure the Tikka rim fire rifles will be just fine...

It's pinned!

Has this been confirmed or are you just stirring the pot? :d just curious. Personally I don’t have strong feelings one way or the other. As guntech points out, there is no shortage of high end, incredibly accurate rimfires out there with barrels that are not threaded to the receiver.

I'd like to see a Hunter version also, although my T3 Lite has warmed me up to synthetic furniture to some degree.
I'm fine with a pinned barrel, it's not like it'll be highly stressed, Anschutz has made it work very well indeed.
I expect the QC on the barrels will be good enough to ensure the T1X is an accurate rifle, probably on par with the Anschutz 64 sporters.
If the trigger is anything like my T3, the T1X will be hard for me to resist.

Wedge clamped to a thin walled aluminum receiver... accurate as phuuuuuuuuuu*$ You worry about nothing.

Lol true but I just prefer the good old fashioned way of threaded receivers

My Walther KKJ-T was made in 1962, wouldn't you say the manufacturing methods were "old fashioned"? It's pressed and pinned. Shoots just fine...

No apparently it really is 2 pins or set screws.

drilled and tapped..........major bonus, and again miles ahead of CZ USA
factory T3 trigger......another major bonus because the Yodave spring should get the pull down under 1 pound...
if the planets align I should have the first one in canada to confirm both..........

I want to see someone put this up against the new Ruger Precision Rimfire...toe-to-toe accuracy test. I'd volunteer, but I think it should be done by a more capable shooter. :) I have a hunch one of these two rifles will be part of my 2018...but I have a hard time imagining the Ruger having an accuracy edge over the Tikka. I'm keeping an open mind though..

Is it just me, or does that forend look too long for the barrel length? It should have ended about at the swivel stud.

Mind you, if it is indeed the same stock (or even close) to the centerfire tikka, a guy could drop it into a wildcat and chop the forend wherever he wanted.

Now the wait for a stainless version....

Could just be because the 16" barrel version is being shown if I had to guess. Plus if you put a bipod or whatever on it its nice to have a little extra forend on the stock IMO.

I had my credit card out to order this and had to stop myself. Ill wait for other people to use them to see if there is any issues, not a big fan of being the first owner on the first gen of a rifle, and presales for firearms dont go very well in Canada.. I hope big company like the Stoeger group will deliver on time. I think I will wait a year for a stainless version. Plus i own a Sako Quad so I cant admit that this is better or comparable in any way shape or form, seeing as mine was 2x's the cost :p

People who are worrying about set screws holding in the barrel need to relax. Sako Quad barrels are held in with a pressure plate and achieve fantastic accuracy, the CZ 455s I have seen shoot fine, same with my 10/22 and they all use non threaded barrels.
