Help! My daughter needs pics of a Ross Rifle being used by CDN troops for a project.

When my sister was in grade 7, I loaned her my Ross rifle to bring to class for show and tell during lessons on WWI.

She carried it up the street to the school.

I was in school pre-columbine. We could have possibly gotten away with that with prior permission.
Now a kid holds a chicken nugget and says pew pew it's a suspension or expulsion.

On a regular basis we brought air rifles to school and put them in our locker. riding our illegal dirt bikes with said rifles sticking out our backpacks. I did let my son bring a target he shot to school for show and tell. That was the compromise since he originally asked to bring his rascal lol.

In Canada, taking a picture of a gun to school could have resulted in suspension, psychiatric evaluation, sensitivity training (at your expense, of course) and compulsory medication.

What part of the country do you live in?

When I was in Grade 11 in Saskatoon, I got permission from the principal and my social studies teacher to bring in some examples as we were doing WWI and WWII at the time. I took in a Gew 98, K98, SLME, #4, P14, helmets and bayonets, and an old DEWAT 08/15, and everyone in the class got to hold them and see what they weighed and looked like. It was a lot of fun and informative, but no way would something like that ever be allowed to happen now, unfortunately. MAkes history come alive.
