The earliest production PU sniper variant were produced at Iszevsk and Tula in the second half of 1942, exact date I've never seen sources agree on or even often specify. Alexander Yuschenko had access to primary records and I don't recall seeing even any general date outside of the year in his book on the 91/30.

Mine's a 1943, hardly early since they can date back to 1940.

i have a ex-sniper 42 Tula PEM -8000 made before they went with the PU version.

I also had a 1942 PEM ex-sniper, its bore was pretty worn out so I regrettable sold it for cheap at a small gunshow here on Van Isle.
