well much like the BLC102, DPMS internals and proprietary receivers. so did brownells rip off NEA? LOL
This is confirmed? So then this should be NR then....

6:05 of video starts explaining the rifle
I guess the question becomes whether or not they feel its worth the ridiculous effort to jump through all the hoops needed to get any of these rifles into Canada as NR. The US is a huge market with plenty of buyers where the effort isn't needed. The 5.56 model will likely never see the light of day (as NR). the 7.62 has good potential though. Hopefully an importer can grab the baton and run with it.
OK, Brownells is marketing these. Brownells is an exporter. It might be worth contacting Brownells and see if they are exploring the Canadian market.
And, if it really is a recreation, would a BRN-10A lower fit a Dutch upper? If so, there would certainly be a market here for lowers.

Is there no main importer who works with Brownells currently?
I want to contact Brownells myself to start asking questions but I doubt they I would get anything more than a canned bulls**t response.
there isnt any brownells importer as they themself is an exporter with a retail aspect ( not wholesale only). They pretty much sell to anyone and anyone without restrictions. If we are serious, we need to A: get IRG as the figure head and talk to Brownells directly to get a sample up for classification or B: someone braves out $2k and hope in hell its NR.
Problem is, what motivation does a site sponsor have to try for NR status on this rifle? If it did get NR status there goes BCL and Alberta Tactical's cornered market.
Cornered by default Sir. Cornered by default...
More options is never a bad thing. May drive their prices down hopefully for guys that like that tactical mall ninja stuff.
Some of us actually do like old school rifles ready to roll out of the box hence where this would sit on the market.
Pay the money, get a top shelf, high quality material, well machined, A1 product ready to shoot as is out of the package.
About the same price as a 102 (especially after swapping out all the NEA garbage components) and still WAY cheaper than a MV/MH.
Plus it's just fackin' cool!
Wanstalls said they were looking into it. I'm sure others are too.
Oh I'm not disagreeing that options are good and I would definitely be a future owner of this if it came in as a NR option. All I was trying to say is site sponsors other than IRG would have little incentive to take the time to submit this for the FRT process unless they made a deal directly with Brownells to be a distributor as IRG would cut out any possibility of a NR tax being put on this rifle.
