M10X Shot Show 2018

All the DMR BS aside (with essentially a 300m round), it is a good re-imagining of Swiss Arms design.

But, they are making a mistake with a DMR heavy barrel. As proven with XCR-L, heavy barrel NR variants are uncomfortable to shoot in anything but bench-shooting.

Think I will stick with my XCR-L regardless of this gun, 10 round XCR mags with better ergos are more fun than pinned 5 round mags, otherwise I can always shoot my SKS with 5 rounders.

I believe since they showcased it with a bipod thats what they are aiming for a bench gun. I pre-ordered one again so it seems that it's already delayed as they are saying release for quater 2 release so mid February is probably not going to happen.

So that explains what a DMR safety is lol.
yep not as safe :D as the US one lol, but we get a "little" better barrel.

Buddy made it sound like it was a bit heavier profile, I wouldn't be surprised if the biggest difference is the extra length.

I have a tremendous amount of respect for you guys but don't see what you're #####in and complaining about here. DMR shyte is just marketing fluff for the most part and most here get that. Ultimately it comes down to merits of the final product/price vs availability. If you want to limit yourself of product choice based solely on your concept of perceived marketing prowess so be it, let that rent space in your head.

So lets go over the merits then... it's heavier than it needs to be. More expensive than it needs to be. And a fairly unproven product to boot with mediocore reviews in the us, followed up by slimy tactics on the manufacturers part. Sorry but not worth it at the new asking price.

Don't be sorry, just don't buy one. Simple, see? No need for more negative waves....

This precisely. Unfortunately it is what it is, and either you will buy one or you wont, same as before all the drama.

I still want one, but I am going to wait for a deal that is more in line with the original price, or perhaps I may get a grey market one and rebarrel to avoid all the DMR crap.

Should likely come in at the same price as the DMR anyhow. Haha

I too, am going to wait for some initial Canadian reviews before jumvping on the "DMR" bandwagon. If the barrel profile is not too heavy, then fine - I will likely go that route to avoid the rigmarole surrounding a 3rd party import. That said, if the DMR barrel is indeed a heavier profile, I will go with the 16.5" import version. As noted, this is going to be my 7.62x39mm bullet-hose, NOT a semi-precision rig! YMMV...

I'm always confused by the US need to extend the barrel and make it 1.5 to 2x heavier for the Canadian market, it's like they don't know that NR means hauling it into the bush. Robarms did the same thing with the XCR at first, if anything the short barrels are better candidates for HB guns - they're just going to the range.

It's less work... same reason why most of the converted NR cx-4 storms have bull barrels. Less work equals more money in pocket.

Seems to me the Canadian market to them is about accuracy. Mags pinned to 5, bipod, long heavy barrel.
I'm assuming they think we don't run and gun so they are marketing this version. After all, short barreled AK's and 30 round mags or more are prohibited.
If you really wanted accuracy this isn't it though. A heavy barreled match barrel on a bolt action is the way.

And it seems that they will come with cheap mags instead of the Magpul Ak Mags they come with in USA. More cost cutting by North Sylva i assume. 10 round ak mags pinned to 5 lol.

No kidding.

I remember once when a guy at a gun store handed me an XCR. The thing must have weighed about a hundred pounds.

He says to me; "This thing is non-restricted. So you can walk around all day in the bush with it."

I literally broke out laughing.
