Commitment phobia on revolvers. Help!

Revolvers are the real deal. Pick one and it will make you love it. SAA and DA/SA you can't lose, you'll want both. I agree that the .357/.38 spl is a sweet gig! I down load .357 for that Goldilocks round. S&W 617 on sale at Al Flaherty's right now. K frame 6" revolver wit 10 rounds of .22lr. neat gun. Got one on the way. 686 4.25" are all over the place. Awesome revolver! Do it!

Once you handle a couple its easy to get hooked on them.
There's something about them that makes them irresistible.

I have 2 9mm revolvers but still won't commit to a 357 revolver and it has everything to do ammo cost. Without going to reloading I don't think I can justify not shooting the 9mm but shoot 357 or even .38
I enjoy shooting the larger caliber pistols, I just don't shoot it quite as much. That's also the reason why I got into reloading. Sometimes one thing leads to another just by natural progression.

Totally agree! I've been eyeing the 617 but I've never had luck with rimfire revolvers. Always had issues with bulged casings either loading or unloading spent shells. Probably just needed better quality .22lr ammo.

Probably the closest you'll get to that without buying a clone of an 1973 Colt is going to be a S&W Model 10 or similar models that has the tapered "pencil" style barrel and fixed sights.

Other than a High Standard Double 9 which is a tip out hand ejector style cylinder in a style that looks a lot like a single action I don't know of any others. And certainly not in center fire calibers.
Actually I really like the look and style of the double 9. I'm going to look into that one(high standard tho meh). Thanks for your input.

You did not specify what Caliber your 1911 is chambered in......but if it's in 45 ACP then I would say look around for a used SW 625 in 45 acp. I have one and love it. Shooting the same caliber as my 1911's is brilliant as it's one less caliber to reload for. Shooting 45ACP out of the 625 is like shooting a 22. It's unreal. The guns don't come cheap but man you sure get what u pay for in this instance. I'm pretty sure ruger also make a very nice 4.25 barrel revolver that shoots 45ACP also.

Just my biased opinion :)

Hmmm. That's not my experience but that's not saying much. The only .22lr revolver that I've owned was a Hi Standard R-101. Basically an old relic with low production values. The little beauty shot and ejected casings perfectly. My brother owns it now, stinker!

One of the dealers on here is bringing in some Manurhin MR88s soon, take a look at those. A 3" MR73 was my first revolver and I can't wait to see it next time I'm overseas. My favourite to this day.
