Rampart's price is outstanding.

I'm only tempted because of the price point. I'm more than happy with my G34 and in general I'd rather shoot .45 than 9mm, but that's just me. Of course I may throw down for the Canadian G19, so don't take advice from me, lol.
 
ya know i was gonna jump on the Canadian G19 but i have a Gen4 G19 already and i dont mind the threaded barrel on it.
i would buy a Gen5 G19 if it had a Canadian barrel though.
my one complaint about the G19 is the damn finger grooves.

Gen 5 has no finger grooves, has the ambi slide release. I believe the trigger is improved also ( could be wrong here).
Sell your Gen4 and get the 5! Minimize the cost, get an updated gun and make your wife happy! Win, win!!
 
Thanks a lot guys. I just placed my order after seeing the Rampart pricing.

Thankfully my wife doesn't see details in handguns, or perhaps ignores them for my benefit. It's either an old gun (revolver), black gun, or silver gun. So I pretend I only have three and she pretends to be ignorant.

Hey TT, i thought you weren’t a Glock/ polymer fan? What brought you to the plastic side? Can’t be the svelte ###y looks!

I always tell people. The finger grooves bother the crap out of me in the store, but I don't notice them at all on the range.

I’m certainly not a polymer fan but I’m not blind to their advantages; they have their place and function. I’m going to try my hand at the Duty Pistol Match of PPC. The rules are stringent and the allowed pistols list relatively small. The Gen5 alleviates my two biggest complaints with previous Glocks, fingergrooves and crappy sights, and is legal to play.

For as much hate as Glocks get for their looks, I think they look decent. Better looking than the Nighthawks on display at SHOT this year in any case.
 
Well a hundred Hail Mary's and you should be back from purgatory. It could be worse you could have bought twp Glocks. There is that. As an aside are the Walther PPQ M2's on the Approved List for Duty Pistol in PCC?

Bob,

I don’t see the PPQ on the approved list. Do you know if any police departments use the PPQ as their issued sidearm? The way the rulebook is written allows DA/SA, DAO, and striker-fired guns issued by Canadian police departments. The idea is that officers (or outsiders like me) shoot issued gear with very few modifications; you aren’t even allowed to blacken your sights. If a dept issues the PPQ M2 then it may be allowed. You would have to contact the CPCA for a 100% answer.
 
Thanks. I will look into it. I am reasonably sure the M2 4" is approved for carry on some LEO Dept. in the US. If I find a few I will post them here. I doubt there are any in Canada.

They are here if you don't go through the Canadian dealers network, mine has a horrible 7 lb trigger even though its the regular 5.5 model. Trigger bar and almost all internal has that disgusting black tar residual on it.

Have you shot it yet? I am on the fence about these and Rampart is running low so i better make up my mind.
