The chambering is the same for all of them, regardless of where they come from.

hey dude. There is the sport model from a few years ago that did not have the forward assist or dust cover. some retailers may still have some on the shelf (i doubt it but you never know). Just make sure you buy the Sport 2 and you will be good to go

Yeah but the Sport (I) had 5R rifling which some would say is better for accuracy.

The Sport 2 already shoots MOA with good ammo. There's no point in compromising features for a feature that's not likely to produce any real world benefit.

Precisely why S&W dropped the 5R and added forward assist and dust cover, something had to give. Buyers wanted to get the "features" of a battle rifle even though most won't use them or need them. As for accuracy, never owned a Sport I, but my Sport II is fantastic and shoots MOA all day long with good technique.

The .223 designation is to deal with legislative issues in the States, just like the Tavor being stamped .223... Newsflash: they have goofy laws down there too!!
