Hi,
Looking for a casual skeet shooting partner at Hamilton Gun Club. Wife and son are tired of being dragged along to 'press the button'. Long time gun owner but a rookie on the skeet field. I prefer Wednesdays but the odd weekend shoot is okay - depending time of year......

PM me if interested. If it works out great, if not, no hard feelings.

Regards,
RB

Go to the club and if a squad of less than 4 or 5, just walk up and ask if they would mind if you joined their squad. I’ve never had anyone say no! After a few time you will meet some new people to shoot with regularly. Also at out club if you ask the cashier she will point you to an experienced shooter who will go out with you or have you join their group. Give it a try!

When you pay the cashier at HGC let her know you need a puller. They have staff there for that purpose. Also as mentioned above if there is a squad available jump on board. The cashier will usually know if there is a squad assembling as well. Just ask.

Should get them to buy a voice activated caller. Nothing like shooting skeet / trap on your own on a brisk dewy morning. Pitch the idea at a meeting, they're amazing.

I've done this and while nobody says 'no' it's a bit awkward due to some of the tight knit groups. I would just prefer to find a shooting partner that we can text each other if/when we want to shoot a round.

Done this as well. Usually the puller is busy with groups at the 5 stand or sporting clays course. The cashier and puller are very friendly though.

They do have voice activated trap and I've been taking advantage of it. Just need some of those callers on the skeet field!

Thanks everyone for your comments so far,

HGC has a voice puller for field 1. They've switched over to cordless, and it happens to have mic attachment.

As far as tight knit, don't worry and don't be shy. So many people come and go, that it's hard for the regulars to know who's who.
Introduce yourself, show up on a few occasions, and you'll start blending in.

The skeet community is always looking for new shooters

Thank you for this information, I did not know that about field 1.
