Who the Hell is Black Box Customs?!

Thank you for the kind words everyone!

Is this glock only? Or would you do slide work to a P226?

We absolutely do work on 226s. Here is an example of one that we have worked on. This particular one has been milled to accept a Trijicon RMR. Other work includes front cocking serrations as well as lightening cuts on the top and has been Cerakoted bright nickel.

Just checked out your gallery - very good work! I see you have some Sig 320's you did stippling and Cerakote on, do you do the red dot milling and have suppressor height sights in stock for them as well? Or is the full list of services for Glock/M&P's only?

Red dot milling is offered on Glocks, 1911s, 226s and P320 as of right now. We currently only stock suppressor height sights for Glocks. We are always R&Ding optics cuts on more firearms. Please check back or follow us on CGN for our latest projects.

I met the guys that run this shop awhile back at an IDPA competition. Great group of guys and they do excellent work. I have seen quite a few of the guns since meeting them and am very impressed, will need to get some work done soon!

Need to get my Gen4 G19 done by Black Box Customs! I've emailed, got a reply, and commented on instagram... guess now I just need to figure out how to ship it to their shop and start the process. Just gotta do it!

Be Careful with these guys! I had a severely bad experience with these guys. dont stray off there menu of services, I found them very unprofessional and there inexperience shows. there cerakote application is not great. I have talked to a few others that had bad experiences with these guys too! The only redeeming quality they have is after screwing you around they will discount you, however I will never recommend them to anyone or do business with them again. So buyer beware, not all of us are happy with these guys. And I normally just leave it alone but, my transactions with this company really left a bad impression.

All that and not one bit of reference, or explanation to what exactly was so terrible? Seems legit.

I'm not saying that I don't believe you, but I don't believe you.

Jay is nothing short of exceptional with communication and transparency. His work is excellent. His responsiveness across email, PM, and Instagram DM is well above the norm for a lot of businesses I've dealt with.

We apologize if you've had a negative experience with us recently. We've sent a PM to see if we'd be able to help resolve the issue.

We'll always stand behind our work 100% and customer satisfaction is very important to us. We're still a young and growing company and those that have been with us since day one, know some of our growing pains. If there is a blind spot or an area we're able to improve, we want to hear about it.

I really appreciate the positive feedback from everyone, I alone can not take credit for everything. Even though I am the point of contact for almost every project, behind the Black Box curtain is a very good team of individuals, without them none of this would be possible.

As always, we thank all of our customers for the overwhelming support.

Jay Hsu

I've also had nothing but a great experience dealing with Jay. Love the work he's done for me. That being said, when are you guys having another sale? I'm contemplating a few more rifles to send you.

Well not to start a war but some of you guys must have ordered right off there menu and got a custom cookie cutter glock or something. I strayed from the menu and got some channels cut into my slide and knew it would take a bit longer. I was told a reasonable time line for the completion of the firearm and added a extra month To my own wait just in case. And my communications with the people where good. Then it started the time line kept getting pushed back. And trough my dealings with these guy they admitted to doing a few things to my firearm then putting it aside to pump out 4 or 5 of their easier protects. After meany emails and phone calls over the months and months hearing some excuse or another. And may I add, I did not want to pester them and spread all these communications out over the months. I finely had enough and called to just have it sent back to me, 5 months after they kept stringing me along. I think they knew the call was coming because, that's when they said oh it's going to paint today. Well I did get it back and when I opened up to inspect it the cerakote on the frame was chipped up. Like I said they did cut me a deal because of there poor services. And one of the people I talked to was a salesman of a reputable dealer in Canada who said "ya they did a poor job on cerakoteing my firearm and jerked me around, and it came back scratched up. It's sad that I'm not the only one who I have heard of who had a bad experience with them". They will do their best to make it right and maybe we small few are the freak incidents, but Like I said I will not support this company again. And for you guy who do I hope you have a better experience than other and myself have had.

MAN RELAX. They apologized and are a young company. Give them a break. Sad.

From a satisfied customer, I think jackal is allowed to express his experience. Everything has been said. No need to keep nagging on.
I'm still loving my Glock, and I get a lot of compliments on it. Thanks guys!!

We appreciate the feedback and we know exactly which project you are referring to. To give everyone some context, we admit that this project took far longer than anticipated, it was a project that required us to write new programs and test these programs before cutting into the customers slide. Add that into the pile of work we got from the cerakote promo and this was the unfortunate result. We never rush projects, each project takes a long as it needs to be completed correctly, especially ones that require services outside the standard ones we offer.

With this project specifically, we recognized that the lead time wasn't reasonable. We first extended a 50% discount off all the services as a gesture of goodwill, which jackal820 accepted. We also installed, tuned and test fired the M&P Apex FSS Trigger Kit free of charge. Once he received the firearm back, he noticed a blemish on the slide right where the slide catch contacts the slide. He emailed us right away about the defect, we offered to recoat the slide free of charge and cover the shipping to/from. Instead, he demanded a full refund on all the work, which we did. After the full refund, we still insisted that he send the slide back for recoating, since we cover that under our warranty. We've also extended a 50% discount on his next project if he chooses to come back. If you're still unsatisfied with your M&P we will replace it with a brand new one. Outside of that, we don't know what else we can do to make this right.

We try our best to ensure that every single project goes out without any problems. However, we are human, sometimes there are things that slip through the cracks. This is why we stand behind our work and have a no B.S. warranty program. We've worked on over 2000 custom projects since we've opened our doors and like we said to Jackal820, we've only ever had 2 other project come back for recoating. Jackal820's experience with us, is not our standard and when these things come up, we do everything in our power to make it right.
