This week I picked up my fourth ( the other 3 have come and gone) BPS this one is an 1989 field model 28" barrel invector choke black synthetic stocks . and a matt blued metal finish . over all the gun is in my opinion a 7/10 . it was a sal####er waterfowl gun from day 1 and shows it . light pitting in a couple areas that have been addressed and cold blued by the former owner . bore is shiny and spotless . I need to replace the carrier pin retainer as it is missing .the carrier pin will actually work it way out of the receiver if you hold the gun on its side and work the action . not a big deal parts on its way from WGP thanks Tara . I am really hoping that this one may fit better as it has more drop at heel than the previous 3 hunter models I have had . kind of funny the wood and synthetic versions of the BPS have different stock geometry . love every thing about the hunter model other than I cannot hit a damn thing with them .

One just showed up'ear in the nee 88 year.
Full choke, screw in type.
Too bad this thread just showed up as I put an order to Numrich yesterday for some
kibbles and bits.

Where is the cheapest place to buy Browning chokes?

Keep an eye on the EE .I got a invector IC from there this week as well for $20 shipped . A full and mod came with the gun.

Last summer I bought a set of 20 ga invector chokes (4) brand new from Ellwood Epps for $92 plus shipping ($22.99/choke). Came to $109 shipped to my door.

Even a non salt water gun BPS rusted like crazy in those years for some reason. So bad I would take an oily rag with me and wipe the gun a few times in the blind
Cheers

mine too... now its wearing krylon spray paint camo.. keeps the rust off

That is what may happen to this one . if I can't keep the rust a bey .any one care to speculate on a reason why browning would produce the BPS with different stock dimensions for the wood and synthetic models .
