BRN-10A Rifle .308 NR??

I agree on that aspect fully.
IRUNGUNS would be the primary outfit I could see to spear head this. I just hope they're listening.
Fack it would suck to see this so close and yet stay so far.

Someone will bring it in regardless, there is some good money to be made on those rifles, even if they aren't NR. Lots of guys love the retro stuff. The AR-10 should be NR but only time will tell. We just need to pressure someone to submit for FRT, then we just play the waiting game.

Edit: Looks like wolverine supplies got it cornered. I look forward to seeing these available NR or not.

Why are they so goddamn heavy. Can’t anyone make a barrel in less than heavy profile any more?
9Lbs for the AR10, weren’t the originals 7.5Lbs?

Originals were around 8 lbs loaded.
The BRN10A will be a thicker barrel "heavily fluted" under the guards. To me this is the same as the NEA102 though; why? It's not going to be a sub moa rifle no matter what, so why add the pointless weight and forward tip the whole balance of the gun? Makes no sense whatsoever.
That being said the BRN10A barrel even though thicker under the guards should still be decently balanced.

The BRN10B does not look as awesome but it's a light profile all the way through. This is the one I'm hoping to get.
You have to keep in mind 8 to 9 lbs is not a heavy long rifle IF it's balanced. And the AR10 is a well balanced rifle. Most of the weight sits well under the receiver. As long as you have a light profile barrel on there which both of these do have compared to modern guns.

Yes Wolverine is bringing in the whole line if they can.
They plan on submitting one to RCMP for NR status. Fingers crossed they both a) figure out fast it's NR and b) don't take 3 years to do it.

I can't justify it if it's restricted though sadly. My M16A1 is my range toy already. That's enough cash tied up.
I'm going to be scrounging and doing side jobs under the table to make cash to start building the funds up though just in case.
I'm so excited, but I'm trying to keep expectations low just in case it goes South. This is Canada after all....

Maybe NEA will do some retro ones, without changing the lower so basically it would just be a new upper. That would be nice too so I could buy Canadian.

F#ck NEA.

Copied this from Arfcom, post is from Brownell’s

“Yes, just like the AR-15 line, the receiver set (upper w/ rear sight, charging handle, and lower receiver with takedown pins, mag release, bolt catch & selector), barrels, BCGs and muzzle devices will be offered. The receivers will be purchased in a set, as they are not compatible with other platforms.”

That sounds promising.

Yes it does, good to hear! For the labs purposes they will likely have to be interchangeable with the original.

I have my fingers crossed so hard for this one they are turning blue!

Well if someone has the contacts, I'm willing to take a gamble on buying the rifle and liasing with the RCMP as required. Will be ok with submitting it for approval as well. PM me and can make a plan of action.

I have never wanted a rifle to be NR so badly as I do this one. This will be the greatest firearm development for me since I got into the game. Have been dreaming of this for a very long time and now it may actually be a reality.
