just received a new upper today in the mail.
i dont know if its the color of it or what but im really noticing the imperfections on this one.
nothing huge, where the dust port cover slams open too has notched the paint/cerecoating or whatever it is.
now i know this happens, have it on all my AR's but this is a new one out of the box.
to follow, there is a scratch in the color on the top rail that i would swear is made from a ring mount????
and on the inside the bolt has obviously run through it..... a fair bit id say, since the coloring is rubbed bear in some spots.
now, i understand that the gun was shot at the factory to make sure it worked and function and im sure that is from where all the wear im seeing comes from, but......
when looking at the whole thing... the dust port ding, the scratch where it looks like a optic was mounted, the bolt rubbed inside....
does this sound like a factory new AR?
ive never noticed this on my other 5 AR's but granted ive not really looked, ive cleaned them all when i got them and nothing jumped out at me but on this one it jumped out at me.
it might be the color of the upper.
its a Burnt Bronze so any imperfection really stands out.
at the end of the day i dont care, as long as it functions its only gonna get more scratches and i dont baby my AR's so those scratches are gonna be coming hard and fast here once i get out to the range.
its more the fact that it was sold as factory new.
ill load some pics later tonight if the camera picked up the marks ok.
