Looking for somebody to do tactical bolt knob install, maybe bolt fluting, and definitely a barrel installation, and action truing, muzzle threading and crowning, etc.
Who's your favourite guy/shop for these operations?
I'm located in southwestern Ontario, but I'd be willing to ship.

Thanks,

Scott

Jacques Mathieu in pronature St Georges de beauce. He's the one who Gravel ask for the tough jobs.
He is the master of accurizing 700 action

I recently had a couple barrels done up by Ian Robertson in Ottawa, and his work is exceptional. He did another barrel for me about four years ago, and it's one of the most accurate barrels I've ever shot. I'll keep sending my projects to him until he retires from the trade. vxsystemsltd at gmail is how to get in touch with him.

Keith Cunningham, Kin mount area has expertise in Remington. He runs the Milton Marksmanship Complex. Google them for contact info.

His reputation has been enhanced here many times as is Jason Spencer at Gunco

Casey at Tacord, Insite Arms, Chou Brothers, Milcun just to name a few.

But be prepared to wait as most if not all the top gunsmiths are always very busy and in demand.

I second, Casey at Tacord. Lots of good smiths listed. But Casey is an excellent communicator via email. Which is unique for gunsmith.

Thanks for all the replies, folks.I think I'm going to give Casey a try,as he's not very far from me,and his reputation is pretty stellar.
I really appreciate all the input, guys. Thanks again.

I am not so sure that Andy and Harley enjoy working on truing rem 700 actions... But, if you buy one of their top-end actions with a good match barrel, they shoot the lights out!

Like most, I'd assume, and I could be wrong, but I'd assume that they would say that you're better off with a good action dollar-wise than spending on truing a rem 700. In the end, you end up with a similar product dimensions wise, but, if you splurged and bought a highly durable good to begin with, you'd be further ahead in the long run.

That said, if you have a rem 700 action, Henry Remple is really good! I don't have his contact info though, you'd have to fish around for it.
