That's BS who wants to hit a brand new drum mag with a grinder......it shouldnt have to be like that especially when IRG states they will work......I'd want refund

Some have had good luck others may have to file a bit much like many mags and firearm accessories .....maaaaybe the 81 buddy has that won’t lock the drum in is out of spec!

Maybe the other importer should of just got their heads on straight and brought in the OEM ones that will actually work instead instead of us always having to deal with aftermarket garbage

This. I wasn't actually expecting it to work perfectly so I'm not disappointed, just letting people know that not all Type 81's will fit perfectly. I haven't had time to examine it closely but it looks like very minimal amounts of filing will be needed.

It definitely won't. AK mags don't have the bolt hold open feature.

Ok, here's a pic of my useless drum mag. Looks cool tho.

Also a pic of the area I filed to get it to fit. It was too long to fit in the mag well and I wasn't going to remove any material off the sheet metal front so I carefully filed it at the rear to fit. Snaps in nice and snug but still easy to release. Hopefully it functions fine.
