This brand seems to have lasted, so I figured you guys could fill me in on your experiences. Are they worth it? Is the recoil impulse that different then lets say a SIG P226? Would you trust your life to it? What I guess I am getting to, is it a gun worth keeping in a collection for life? I have seen one person on youtube who seemed to want to trash the pistol but most other seem to say they are down right amazing.
What are your thoughts?

Well considering I bought mine when Dlask was blowing them out...... way worth it!
Great trigger, accurate, feels great in the hand and smooth shooting.

As far as collections go, well how many rotating barrel lockups do you have at the moment?

They have had distribution pains but part of that issue is what put the current one I have in my hands for just over $400 new.

I had an earlier version with the trigger guard takedown that shot great but I didn't like the takedown design and the way it imparted flex to the plastic rail.
The current glock style takedown is way better and I can't think of anything that needs improving accept maybe the current trend of milling the slides for optic mounts.

About the only negative is there is not a bunch of aftermarket stuff..... but they don't really need much tweaking.

I'd like to try a 10mm.

Great pistols, one of the few recent designs that really stands out performance wise IMO, dat trigger!

It's just too bad that it wasn't made by a major company.

Really wanted an x-calibur for a while and I missed that bronze colored one that was on the EE. Wish my impulse control wasn't that strong at that moment.

I picked an X-Cal up to shoot IPSC with this year. I’ve had about 9 failures to feed in 400 rounds, I’ll have to do some experimenting to see what the cause of that is. Super comfortable, great sights, does the job in the accuracy department. Takedown and reassembly is weird. I’ll have to bench the gun and see where it’s hitting because so far everyone who has shot it has shot to the left. And as stated, dat trigger. Dat reset too... :O

I have the k100 mk12. Really like it. Well built, accurate and great trigger out of the box as others have said. Very well balanced for a polymer frame, likely due to the steel insert. Doesn’t give that top heavy feel that some polymers tend to. Parts and accessories seem to be more available than in the past. Will permanently be in my safe.

I had a K100 Mk7 that I got at the Dlask blowout. I guess it was fine but I never really warmed to the way it felt in my hand or how it shot and so I sold it on. I would say that probably had more to do with me preferring all steel guns in general rather than anything about the Grand Power itself.

As far as function went it seemed to be a good working reliable gun.

Had a mk 12 from Dlask. Paid under $400 for it IIRC and didn't realy feel like it was that great of a value to be honest. Finish was pretty meh. My Girsan looked better quality... Shot it once sold it a year later. Can't imagine paying the price they go for now.

As for recoil p226 feels different then most guns imo that high bore axis means lots of muzzle flip.

I've had one for a few years now. I find it good in the hand, and being a southpaw, I really appreciate its fully ambidextrous features. It is very accurate and as others have said, it has an excellent trigger; smooth, with a very short reset. My only gripes are that I find reassembly awkward, and the stock sights are a tad small for my older, visually and resolution challenged eyes. However, as has also been said, parts are becoming more readily available and so, I suppose I can fix the latter issue any time I decide to overcome my own inertia in that department.

Surprised by your feelings on the finish of the pistol. The machining of my slide is beautiful. Not a single tooling mark. Sootch also raved about the build quality of the k100 in his youtube review. Mine doesn't have a single rattle.

I have an ooooold K100 Patrol I picked up when they first hit the country in 2005. The rotating barrel imparts a recoil unlike anything else in my stable. The only ammo I have had issues with were some reloads I had with Frontier 147gr. plated bullets. It didn't like the flat nosed truncated design.

A friend of mine has an X-calibre that I have tried and really like, but I can't justify the upgrade as this one shoots so well.

Auggie D.

Lots of folks like them. But there are also more than a few detractors. WRT one part of you question "Would you trust your life to it?" I get the sense that a lot of guys in the US would not, particularly over the benchmark glocks, M&Ps, etc. That may be more with the 10mm crowd to be fair as issues with the P40 in 10mm seem to be more common. Anyway we are in Canada so that is not really an issue unless you had an ATC or something.

I think it is a neat design but would not take a flier and order one sight unseen. Open to being a convert but would need opportunity to hold and preferably shoot one first.

I bought a 9mm Q100 and find it shoots very well and is easy to maintain and is reliable. I'm a Glock guy really but I take the Q100 (Glock like trigger) out often and get pretty good grouping with all reloads.

I just picked up an X-Trim and really enjoying it. Have been shooting an MP9 2,0 in IDPA and thought to try something new.

The Xtrim is worth the expense - great sights, fancy cutouts. Trigger is sensational. Can't wait until it works in. The gun shoots quite flat once you get it going. Have shot CCI 124gr, Atlanta 147 gr with no issues. Have a few new mags and one was giving some trouble right out of the gate with my buddies 9mm reloads. Got my eye on it for now.

FYI, holster is a big concern I checked out, but it slipped well into my BladeTech OWB for the M+P. It was a friction fit. I have a custom holster from Ares Tactical for my Sig p320 full size and it was a perfect fit with a small adjustment - I heated the kydex to accommodate the larger mag release. Fits superb now with a positive "click" on re-holstering... Score!

Only FTF I had with my MK7 is I forgot to resize a case that I pulled a bullet and was a lip on it. Other than that shoots, 115, steel cased, 124, reloads etc perfect. But yeah I noticed that mine shoots left, I cant seem to get the sights to move so I just aim to the right. Scored my second best PPC score with it.

I’ve only shot 147 grain Wolf through it so far. I’ve put 800 rounds through it now and only cleaned it when I got it so I’m thinking it’ll need a cleaning every 500 or so because it was really starting to have issues, failures to feed and slide not locking back. I benched it and shot an amazing group but was almost 2 inches left so I need to try to adjust the sights. I think I’ll have to try a larger backstrap as well, I started with the second smallest which initially felt pretty good but it’s starting to feel uncomfortable.
