Got out this weekend to do some load development. It didnt like 175g Federal GMM so this time I tried 168g SMK's over varget in IVI brass with CCI primers. Showed more promise but nothing spectacular. Cant recall how long the cartridges were but had to stuff them in deep and was still jamming the bullet into the rifling way below mag length. Had pressure signs already with the starting loads. Had four more loads to test but decided to call it quits before things got dicey. Was shooting off front and rear bags in -8 weather. Was getting pretty cold by the end so that may have contributed to groups being the sh%ts. If I only count four shots things are decent but there was always a flyer! The Trijicon reticle is a bit thick but the targets gave a good sight picture at 100 meters.

I don’t even remember. I think I got it from the EE.

Have since put a black grip on it. Gonna strip the thing down and blast the cerakote off and anodize it myself. I think I can mimic burnt bronze with my anodizing setup. I’ll post pics, if it doesn’t turn out to be an abortion lol

my rifle will be here tomorrow, pretty much complete opposite colour scheme from yours. black rifle tan CTR, grip and sights with a primary arms 1-8. yours makes me wish i ordered tan haha. im sure once i get mine in hands i wont be so sad. nice setup you have

Finally received the last piece to my build, I bought an X-Caliber .338 Federal barrel, I bought the JP enhanced bolt from them that they head spaced to barrel, also bought a JP low mass BCG, titanium firing pin, roller cam pin, SLR adjustable gas block and gas tube, Raptor Charging handle, Hogue grip, Odin Works 15.5 hand guard, Timney Trigger, Precision Armament M4-72 muzzle brake, Magpul CTR stock, Seekins Trigger guard. Now just have to wait for the rifle to show up

Well it looks like you won, all the bases covered. You're going to have one sweet bang stick.

Whoa, missed the JP silent captured spring.

Awesome buildup, let us know how she shoots.

Just received my 102. overall very impressed. the only issue im seeing is that my front take down pin is pretty damn easy to pull out. does anyone else have this on theirs? concerned it will open up while shooting.

What’s the barrel length?

Still the factory 18.6 inch barrel. Will be replaced with a 20 inch Shillen with rifle length gas system.

I like the look of the longer hand gaurd.

Mine are tight. The rear takedown pin is tight as well. Have to use a punch to pop it out to open the rifle up. That should loosen a bit with time and use I assume.

my rear pin is tight, but as HirvGotti said. my front take down requires little effort to remove. In better news my dust cover fits perfectly and doesnt fall open. you win some you lose some? haha

Now we have to buy pins... hopefully it is the pin thats too small and not the hole thats too big.

theyll probably come up with some bs calling it a fast takedown feature

there is a retaining spring for the pins. maybe the spring just needs to be a little bigger to hold the detent in more firmly for the front take down? i put quite a few rounds through it and didn't have any troubles it might just be me being picky.
