Ontario Transfer Wait Times?

Holy crap am I not jealous of Ontario! Did a transfer last month that took 4 weeks to get processed...

I'll stay in Manitoba thanks

Sold my p226 to a fellow GCN'er, transfer took 12 HOURS (including overnight hours!). He's in NL.

I wonder how Ontario can take that long to do...

Does anyone here work at a CFO/CFC??

I mean, let's say I get a transfer request (an email). I read it, and punch in the PAL numbers, FIN, etc. That takes 5 minutes perhaps? Nothing in the file, so I start the new registration certificate info and send it to the new onwer, another 5 minutes perhaps? So that's 10 (long) minutes for 1 transfer.

How many transfers happen in Ontario per day? Are they that understaffed?

Private purchase, transfer went in Jan 26
Transfer complete February 13 (pistol arrived 2 days later - yah!) ... but as of today still no reg doc, so no trip to the range :(

Bought my first restricted handgun in Manitoba two weeks ago. It took 24 hours to get the transfer and ATT to transfer to my home emailed to me. My updated PAL with the standard ATT took about a week to arrive in the mail. However I'm still waiting on the registration certificate to arrive which I'm told will likely take 3-6 weeks from purchase.

Given that our PALs have bar codes and magnetic strips, I can't understand why we wouldn't be able to have all this information stored electronically on the card. I'd like to think that most enthusiasts that own/operate businesses and clubs/ranges would be willing to invest in a simple magnetic code reader to verify "paperwork" to overcome these unnecessary delays and paper.

Bought one CZ on Feb 10th from dealer. Now is two weeks down the road. Got nothing yet. Keep my finger crossed. I will keep posted when the toy get home.
