I have a full size M305 coming in in a full blackfeather stock system. And I’m looking for advice on combat optics that can take the abuse, that the M14 platform is famous for doling out on scopes. Can the Eotech, Acogs or Elcans handle it?

If you're looking for a dot sight buy an Aimpoint. I've watched videos of them torture testing them and I don't think an M-14 would be able to kill one.
Any military grade optic should be fine so the optics you listed should be able to handle it no problem.
If you want a variable power I'd go with Leupold, Sightron, Elcan, Nightforce, Trijicon, etc.

I would stay away from optics that are specifically designed to be mounted on AR-15-type rifles, e.g. Elcan, ACOG, or EOTech. Any of these will have a ridiculously high offset from the bore.

For a red dot, you want either a miniature one that can bolt directly to a rail or a 30mm Aimpoint in a low ring. Likewise, any magnified optic should be mounted as low as possible. Most mounts for the M14 have quite a bit of height as-is.

For short, I'd use (and have used) Aimpoint. You can mount them low enough that you won't need much of a cheek riser and they can take a beating.

As far as something like an ACOG I'd prefer one of the bases that is designed to mount the optic directly (again, getting it lower).

1-8is perfect, since it's unrealistic to challenge target beyond 700yd. (It can be done, but not for average Joe, and very low chance from stock 305)
3-9X and 10X fixed are the other two options i would go for.

For 305, scope mounts are way more important than optics, they are picky, and water is deep.

Well the optic that came with it is a bushnell ar1x mp, put new batteries in it and it works well. It seems rugged, guess I’ll run it till it dies.

I run an Aimpoint Comp3 on my 305, and a Primary Arms ACSS308 4-14 on my M1A Match, both have taken hundreds of rounds of abuse. I've also taken them hiking and dropped them both, fallen on them, with no difference in zero on either.

The best magnified optics mount for the M14 IMO is the ARMS 18 mount. It gets nice and low where you can still use the iron sights (which is one of the best features of a 14). I have a Midwest Industries scout mount for an Aimpoint T1. It bolts to the barrel and puts the T1 low enough that you can co-witness the factory iron sights. Only thing is the hand guard needs to be modified to have a space for the mount. Easy for the plastic/fibreglass hand guard. I had it for sale on the ee, I don’t have the T1 anymore. If you got any interest in going that route send me a pm. I can send you a couple pics.

There are elcans mounted on the 7.62 gpmg and they take full-auto hammering. There are no internal adjustments, just external windage and elevation drums. I would not hesitate to put one on an M14 if I wanted a fixed 3.5x on my rifle. Fwiw.

Also, ACOG makes a 7.62 version made for the M14, so I suggest it would be fine.
