3 Vets is closing down and are blowing out some very nice new wool European army pants for $18.00, marked down from $70.00.

You have to be fairly thin waisted or slender though. They come in waist sizes 32, 34 and 36 and even those are about a size smaller than posted.

I usually take a waist 36 but they are tight so I opened them up at the back seam and my wife is re-sewing them up with a more relaxed waist. Bought a 2nd pair today and they fit better. Just a fluke or a different manufacturer I guess. I think I'll just move the closure buttons a fraction of an inch. Those ones don't have to be split and resewn.

Hurry though, they are only open for 3 more days.

Thanks for the heads up, I just cleared them out of almost all the 36 sizes left. They fit more like a loose 34, 35 may be more accurate. I have put on a wee bit of weight though and that may be to blame too lol.

I didn't intend to buy so much but they gave me a smoking deal since I did, if I said how little I paid nobody would believe me. I almost feel a little bad as if I ripped them off, even though they named the price.

I'm happy with two pairs. I could have bought a lot more for even cheaper but I wanted to leave some for others. That's why I posted this note. I didn't want to be greedy and selfish.

So I am pretty sure these are of German origin, I noticed the ones I got are sized "g 52" and a couple "ü g 52", I believe this "grosse" and "uber grosse" or english equivalent "Large" and "large tall"

I have enough pairs to last my lifetime now, assuming I don't get fatter lol.
I will probably sell some the next time I have a table at a gun show.

I went back and got even more stuff. Not much left but what is there they are literally throwing out the door.

It is sad to see another Vancouver landmark disappear.

Darn it.. do you gents wear wool pants for hiking around? Would they be appropriate for snowshoeing and wet weather?

You will be happy to know that they still had these pants available until their last day. Any left got donated to charity.

So these are East German in origin and they used a unique letter code size system. I was not far off though in my assumptions.

East German? Wow, now I'm doubly sad. Would've been a cool (heh) piece of history. If not 3vets, where else can I go to grab a nice pair? Please don't say thrift store.

Mine are so darn elegant they are like 1950's dress pants. They even keep a crease when ironed. I'll be keeping one pair for winter city wear and the other for hunting if I ever need them.

I still have a mid-weight pair of Canadian army dress pants with a tight weave wool that have served me well to minus 15 degrees with lots of life yet and a new pair of heavy weight wool Swiss army pants I've never worn yet. Love wool pants for hunting.
