If I were to send a number of barrels out to be threaded is one thread pattern better than the other? More commonly available? Better selection? Less expensive?

Is it blasphemy to have Mossberg barrels threaded for rem choke?

Just picked up a turkey, modified, and improved cylinder to supplement the breaching choke the barrel came with. Not a plethora, but was wondering if one system is more popular than another.

I do Rem Choke and Thinwall as they are popular options, available and cheap.

Unless you have preferences because you have a specific brand of shotgun that has their own type I'd say no problem.

So you can fit remchoke in vintage fixed choke remingtons pre 86 like 870 and 1100?? as an example
That I find strange since briley would/could not do it for me . They said they could thread them in but it would not be safe . They wanted .850 min for rem chokes which these barrels didnot have
Cheers

I believe that is why GST gave the option as standard Rem OR special Tru-choke for thinwall as being the most popular: Briley might have been able to do the thinwall chokes because of the lack of .850 for standard Rem chokes. I know that Tru-choke says the thinwall "choke system is usually installed in barrels with outside diameters of .805 to .825 and is for lead shot or lead substitutes lonly". Did you have less than .805 as well? Wanted to shoot steel? Wanted Rem specifically because of better selection?

Just added in hopes to clarify.

Honestly don't remember just know they came back with Briley thin walls in them. I asked for rem chokes to match all of the other remington barrels I had with them factory fitted with rem chokes
Cheers

As said Truchoke thinwall are for small diameter barrels. So I do Remchokes for barrel with enough wall thickness and Truchoke Thinwall for others.
