The CANADIAN Ruger Gunsight Scout Discussion Thread

Slowly getting my gun the way I would like.

Got the polymer stock by trading my laminated one, ordered an XS rail, got a bushnell engage 3-12x42mm and some warne QD rings. Just need to source a muzzle brake, and a rhodesian sling now and buy another magazine or two. Will post pics when I have it all together.
 
Picked her up last week on a impulse buy, but man, I have zero regrets. It's such a beautiful rifle. The Leopold ultra light 3-9 came in yesterday . It's such a perfect match. I didn't want a go with a scout scope as options are limited and i don't like that much weight up front . Ill probably get some kinda titanium muzzle brake next to keep the rifle light. Couldn't wait to sight it in

I see the polymer 308 mags at Wanstalls, but not the 5.56.

I think the MDT are a good bet for the 10 round magazines, especially if they work as is.

The only 5 round mags I have come across are steel Accurate Mags.

I don't know what BS that is with Brownells not exporting the Ruger mags. I am not sure if it is a Ruger thing or a Brownells thing. Brownells exports tons of other mags, so it makes me think it is a Ruger thing which means Ruger needs a kick in the crotch.

I ordered Ruger mags from prophet river.
Always excellent service and fast shipping.

I’m still trying to decide on my scope, going to throw on a 3-9 until I can find a 1-4 or 1-6 I like

My suspicion is that it is a Ruger thing. I have ordered other mags from Brownells with no issues.

I ordered a couple mags from MDT and will keep an eye out for Ruger mags in Canada. Would like to find a polymer 5 rounder in 5.56 still.

I had an old Colt AR-15 with Ghost ring type sights on it, it had a big ring and if i flipped it, a small ring was there for finer shots at further distances. Is there such a creature out there that one could fine to mount on the rear for a Ruger Gunsite Scout rifle?
 
Got my 3 and 5 round mags, and my Leupold scout scope mounted. Once it quits snowing I’m going to take it out to shoot. It’s quickly become my favorite gun to carry around...

Nothing but if you could flip it for a smaller ring for longer shots it would be great. That ar i had was amazing with those flip sights. Just figured id ask to see if something similar exists for the scout rifle.
