Hello everyone
does anyone have experience with the smith and wesson mp15 sport2 I have seen them for
as little as $650.are they any good or just cheap this would be my first AR
I am also looking at the colt diemaco MRR 16 its a lot more like $2100 which my willing to do need your advice .

Value for dollar they cannot be beat right now. Yes they are a lower quality AR15 but I can confidently say that the diemaco is not 4 times better in quality over the SW sport 2 but it is almost 4 times the price. Honestly though this topic has been beat to death and typing sport 2 into the search function should give you lots and lots of reading on the subject. I own one and will be keeping it indefinitely

Thank you so much I really appreciate it

Sorry to jump onto your thread, but can I also ask how the S & W is for left hand shooters? Also should I be looking for a 556 or a 223? Knowing the 556 can shoot 223 but not vice versa.

Thank you

I on both a Sport and a Sport II, the latter having the Forward Assist button, a useless article, but it makes the gun look "tacticool". My wife bought one as a protest when the rcmp started getting stupid on imported rifles. She wouldn't let me shoot it, so I bought my own.

I regularly shoot them out to 300m from prone, ringing the gongs at 100-150-200m on the way out and back again with the same sight setting. Then I do it again from the sitting position. No, I don't shoot from the bench using a rest which as an old soldier, I regard as the game of old men.

I have mid-quality red dot and scope sights on detachable mounts for both, and I prefer the red dot overall. Over add ons are a non-rattle MagPul stock on one, MagPul grips on both, a rubber but pad on one, ambi-safety on one and ambi charging handles on both. My wife's has similar add ons.

Yes, you can pay a lot more, but if you can find a better rifle for the bucks, buy it.

Just took mine out last week with 5 friends, 2 experienced shooters and 2 newbies, it was loved by all. Everyone found it easy and smooth to shoot. I enjoyed it and figure it was my best spent $$ by overall cost of any firearm i've purchased. I'm pretty new to shooting and wasn't really interested in AR's but when I saw the prices last spring my credit card convinced me I'd be a fool not to buy.

One of the best buys in the AR market. No different than other ARs for shooting left handed, unless you get a Stag LH model... Doesn't come with ambi controls, but they're easy to add-on if you need.

DOOOOOO IT!

Can’t add much to the conversation except buy, buy, buy. Best AR available right now dollar for dollar. Love mine and I have had and shot MUCH higher priced, but not necessarily higher quality AR’s.

I've had mine for just about a year totally worth the money go out and get yourself one at this price you can't go wrong. If you don't you will be kicking yourself later when the prices goes back up.

The price will go up once Trump is out. Pricing on ammo and guns were at an all time high with Obama pulling the strings. But that shortage has now turned into a surplus, thus the prices. S&W Sport II $640, 9mm $250/1000 is just the beginning

I might add, with the latest tragedy in the US, the demand for AR's might just go up due to chatter about banning them and thus reducing the flow north of the boarder. This could reflect on the current low pricing so I wouldn't wait too long if one wants to get a deal. Keeping in mind before the Trump Slump, the S&W Sport II was retailing for @ $1000 CDN.

As I have said in other similar threads the MP15 Sport II is a great starter AR. I really liked the trigger pull. There are a myriad of different furniture options available as well. It's a good solid AR.

Seems like a good rifle overall, for the price.

I just had mine out for the first time today, and the only complaint I have is that to hit POA, the rear sight windage needs to be adjusted almost all the way to the left. With a red dot, the front sight post is way off to the side of the dot. Not cool. Anyone else had this issue?

The M&P 15 Sport 2 is certainly at the right price point at the right time. S&W has a winner with this one. An entry level AR that has a quality feel to it.
