Anyone knows where i could order a front stud (the hexagonal screws that holds the barrel) Mine is stripped apparently.

Numrich got it listed but out of stock. Product #: 992310A
https://www.gunpartscorp.com/products/992310A
(mines not exactly as shown ...)

Would of redone threads with tap or replaced it by hardware nut but the threads are awkwards (m8x0.80 chinease threads?)

Thanks for any inputs.

Contact Savage directly.

The part, despite being made in Canada, will likely ship from the US. Last time I ordered parts for my 64 the part cost like $0.87 and I had them throw in an extra magazine to make the shipping worth it.

Just because they are metric doesn't make the threads Chinese, every country in the world (ours included) use the metric system with the exception of our American neighbours.

If it is the screw that is stripped, any bolt supply place should carry something similar. If the hole is stripped you could drill ot out bigger and use any size you want.

lol... I know that since '87 most anything is metric, exept hydrolics, farm equipment etc. It's not because it's metric that i called it chinese thread, I called it chinese threads because in both sae and metric chart theres nothing common with those threads. It got the same path of thread as m5x0.80 but in m8. Chinese got there own threads too that aren't in usual machining charts. So no hardware nor autopart carries that, plus that bolt is hollow and got another that screws in it.

I thought about drilling bigger tapping it and use a bigger screw but there's only 2-3 threads holding it in place, its not very thick.
