:bangHead:I think I figured out my troubles. I use a lee 10lb bottom pour pot. The other day I was casting .45acp, worked into the evening, low lite, stood up for a stretch and the lead in the pot was glowing red. ffs too hot must have been off gassing like a basford. Have to turn down the pot and stop throwing the sprues back in the pot immediately. I noticed that when I threw them back on each cast you could hear the pot running :bangHead::(:redface:
 
I didn't reread all the posts but if there's temperature issues it really helps to get a thermometer or PID controller.
Gives better results and consistency as well as reducing the chances of overheating.

I suspect people underestimate the chances of getting lead exposure from processing dirty brass too. The salts from primer residue are easily absorbed.

Get yourself a thermocouple and pid controller. Problem solved
