BCL 102 stripped receiver set thread

Any news on if a dpms pattern 308 bcg should drop in and function without issue?

Not sure if anyone is going to give you a straight answer.

This same response would apply to changing out the BCG on any Ar10/AR308 platform.

So in theory - yes it should work - but you must ensure the bolt is head spaced properly. I would pick up a set of Go / NoGo gauges at a minimum.

^ This... and you can keep your G/NG gauges forever... You can also help others in your local area if they want to check their setup :)

The Brownells is good to go in the factory BCL barrel. where some people had issues was the Brownells BCG with aftermarket barrels.

Thats Why I sold my Brownells BCG and ordered a Barrel and BCG from Fulton to eliminate the guesswork.

BTW the Brownells BCG is extremely nice. You'll want to throw the BCL straight in the garbage after handling it...lol...

The fanboys will be here shorty saying you are overeating... lol..

Looks like they have to put a generous coat of paint to try to hide all the defects... lol...

Im Gonna email Ryan and ask to get my stripped receiver set RAW... lol... I see lots of sanding in my future....

Just received my 102 back. Didn't get a replacement as originally was promised. What I did receive was the rifle I had originally received busted only with more wear and tear marks from the half-assed job they did fixing it. The muzzle brake is at least tight this time but is no where near properly indexed. Pretty disappointed in the whole BCL "experience". Definitely not a rifle I would have accepted in person. To sum up the magical experience I've had, waited an additional 4 months longer than what was originally promised, received a rifle less compatible than originally promised, received a broken rifle initially, received the same rifle again instead of the replacement I was promised, only more marred up from a half-assed repair job. I've kept it positive throughout this whole ordeal and given them the chance to make it right which they have failed to do. I do not feel this company deserves my money after broken promises after broken promises and I'm not happy with the product I received. Tooling marks are visible everywhere on this rifle, the front takedown pin can shake out, pmags don't drop free, there is bubbling in the paint. The idiots over at BCL are obviously too busy painting rifles white and posting cat pictures to do proper qc and get customers their rifle that were paid for long ago. This is a joke.

Gouged to bare metal (note the machining marks everywhere)

How I originally received this rifle

I feel your pain buddy. I had several issues with the Gen 1 rifle. After a few times back and forth to BCL, and every time I received it back, it was as though a retarded savage went at it with a wrench. The rifle never really functioned perfectly or was fully reliable.

I was going to try and get a "new one" on the IOP run, but after seeing and reading about all the "bonus features" and piss poor workmanship and QC second to none, the emphasis is on none, loose barrels, gassing issues ect. I have since decided to cancel my order and will refrain from buying anything BCL.

I cant believe that the BCL Fanboys are willing to send good money on a rifle that is supposed to work, and then opt to fork out extra cash to fix the #### that BCL cant sort out prior to releasing it to the public.

No more BCL products for me. I will stick to my AR-10, restricted or not.

Yep Rammy told me to get it anodized. The fact that they dont is mind blowing according to him ( what does he know hes a machinist ) . I guess BCL is banking on 90% of the owners to take pictures of the rifles instead of using them...lol...

Yeah, we're talking level 9 dumb. Especially, considering that NEA used to anodize - they weren't the most repeatable for color, but at least it was hard and functional.

Have gauges was just wondering about the dpms vs armalite pattern. Anyone try the brownells bcg? On sale for a good price currently

I grabbed one of these on sale right now for $150 US. Hard to beat that with exchange/freight/brokerage.

Where will you be getting the anodizing done?

omg... and I'm still waiting for BCL to acknowledge my warranty claim for the lower receiver takeout/detent pin issue! This is scary. It's been 1 full week now...

I'll be sure to take detailled pictures of whatever I send them, just in case.
