Swiss arms owners

Sorry, no pics. Don’t currently have a Swiss with a quad rail on it. Having used them in the past tho, and as someone who still owns a couple Swiss Arms, this is my quick and simple opinion. I liked the quad rail on my CQB, didn’t like it on the longer guns. No issue with fit or function, I just couldn’t see a reason for a heavy expensive addition to the front of an already heavy gun. I tend to prefer a vertical grip of some style on my CQB, and the B&T rail worked well for this and looked like pure ### as well.
My opinions, your mileage may vary.

I've got a quad rail for my sg550. It adds more weigh but not a huge deal. I don't have it on my rifle right now because you have to remove the bayonet lug and i have a nice Wenger bayonet for it. I know the bayo is useless but it looks cool lol

A new b+t quad rail isn't exactly cheap either

Just use your google fu. Here's a consignment for Wolverine Suppies.

Good if you want to mount a fore-grip or flashlight. Top rail has some movement. I wouldn't mount a sight on my top rail

I had one for my 550 Classic. I recently sold the rail.

Short version: The rail had a bit of a wiggle in it (it was replaced by B&T under warranty and they finally said that a little bit of play "was expected") so it was red dot worthy only and installing it made the rifle a bit too front heavy for offhand shooting. Unless it's a smoking deal, I would pass on spending that much on it. I've now come to realize that the 550 has a very delicate balance to it that is best appreciated stock.

I guess I will need to put Elcan 1-4 to compensate the weight at the front ;)

The quad rail/front handguards are well made and expensive like pretty much all B&T stuff.
Doesn’t float the front end unfortunately and really is just a glorified handguard.
Won’t hold zero if you decide to mount optics on it, but as already stated they are not meant for that.
If you want to mount flashlights or forward grips or aftermarket bipods, then this one of the only ways you’ll be able to accomplish this. Adds weight on an already heavy(ish) rifle.

I had one, ran one and moved on.
Now, if they could somehow float the barrel and gas system for the platform with an add-on handguard/float tube, that would be worth it in my opinion.

Yes, but it does assist in mounting the grenade launcher.

Not a lot of extra up front weight:sok2

Also much fun.

The only person I've ever heard complaining about rifle weight, needed to work out.

Imagine, "Here's a rifle with grenade launcher, along with the 50 rounds of 40mike mike". Or, "Here's the C9/C6, etc with a few belts of ammo".

"But it's so heavy.....":kickInTheNuts:
