Will Colt Hand Guards Fit A Norinco Upper???

Any Idea what they had to do to get them to fit?
I was thinking of taking one of the tabs off with a Dremel

Step 1 - Sell Norinco
Step 2 - Save money and buy new Milspec AR
Step 3 - Install furniture/accessories without excessive profanity and ass pain

Been there, done that. I feel your pain.

All I have is a Norinco Barrel not the whole gun.
The gun is an AERO lower and a colt upper receiver.
So its just for plinking my other ARs are Armalite with an heavy barrel 1 bin 7 and a Bushmaster carbine with 1 in 9.
My wife just finished chemo so I thought I would start a project to get myself motivated after 9 of the worst months of my life.
I only built the gun because I have a bunch of parts that were laying around.
I didn't use the new C-8 aluminium stock still in the original bag.
I would like to build an AR in 9mm I have a new upper receiver but need the rest.

Where in NB are you located? If you are near Oromocto, feel free to pop by for a coffee/beer/scotch or whatever and talk ARs... I may have a few AR tidbits laying around that I don't really need and we can get project (or those projects if I'm reading correctly) going. Let me know.

Best wishes to your wife, I hope she is doing well.

I am in Moncton and if you are coming down let me know and we can meet up for Coffee.
The only scheduled time I go to Fredericton is to set up at the Gun Show on labour day weekend.
Hopefully after my wife recovers there could be a rode trip coming up.
This is the first time I ever built an AR with any Norinco parts and will probably be my last.
I have probably had about 25 to 30 AR 15s over the years and this one is a pain in the A**.
Now the hammer hangs up on the firing pin of the Colt AR 15 carrier. Most of my other guns had M16 carriers.
Will have to modify the hammer like the old Colts had.

Exactly. The mistake of Norc buying is always repeated.

I just talked to a member that builds ARs and does repairs for police.
He told me he bought a 10 ton press to take the pins out of some of the front sight assemblies.
He said the Norinco front sights are the hardest ones to get out.

I have the gun completed but when I retracted the bolt it got stuck between the upper and the recoil tube.
It took me a few minutes to get it apart. The problem was the carrier was an AR-15 early version with an exposed firing pin.
I believe the current ARs have an enclosed pin, I bought another carrier which solved the problem.
Now have to go to the range.
