gday fellas,
I'm in the market for a 2nd hand 22lr, ive come Across a Voere 22, its German I think?

does anyone know much about them? I just want a pretty basic 22 for the young fella to plink an shoot rabbits..
$250 with a ####ty scope... he may be negotiatble so ill work it in with freight.

They were made in Austria. I do not know anything about the one you are looking at but I have a Voere 20 gauge over 222. In my opinion they are far better than the Savage over and under. My 222 is very accurate.

I have an older Voere bolt action made in Germany. Paid 100 bucks for it without a mag. When I finally found a mag to fit it, it was an additional 70 bucks. When I finally figured out that the entire rear site can be punched left or right, I ended up with a very accurate gun. Blueing is gone on mine, ans stock has seen better days, but for a beating around gun it is plenty accurate.

thanks for the reply, this is what I'm after.... it has a magazine :) an a sheety scope but it will do my young fella fine I think!

we need special catorgory on our license for Semi auto rimfires or shotguns an semi auto rifles are almost non existant here!!!

That really sucks!!! I feel for you down under.

I have a book here about handgun hunting, and the author travelled to Australia to hunt crocs and water buffalo with a large caliber revolver. That was back in the early 1980s though.

Sad, really sad the way things have gone for you down there.

And on the topic of Voere rimfire bolt actions, I seem to recall back in the day seeing some really nice looking examples that were not cheap in price either. Did they make high quality rifles as well as the cheaper ones? Can someone refresh my memory please? It seems to me that Mauser bought out Voere and the very accurate Mauser 301 rifles were made using the Voere factory???
