Wanstalls big sale

As a customer in the store yesterday said, "I can resist anything except temptation" (Oscar Wilde quote, I think.) If I'd seen a 25 in .45 Colt I'd have been awfully tempted. I have a 625-8 in ACP/AR already, so I'm not suffering too much, though.

The Model 625-5 I bought was initially listed as a .45ACP but they corrected it later in the day. Do you recall seeing it listed as an ACP when you were there?

Aarrrghhh... I don't remember :(. I was only looking at them online on their computer as there wasn't enough room in the store to display the goods. I just noticed (and was amazed) that there were three 625's listed. I was in the store before the sale went online at noon, though. I'm fairly sure that none was shown as 45 LC.

Makes sense since they corrected the caliber in the picture digitally well after the sale went online. The online description was still reading .45 acp when I bought it this morning though. I never thought I would find another 625-5 Stocking Dealer Special up here, I’m stoked!

Saw the 625-5, but I was already at 2G's. Had to walk away from it. Nice pick up.

Speaking of pricing.....I notice neither of the P210's have sold.

My initial reaction when the sale started was that they seemed high and that they weren't in the best of condition. I guess other potential buyers agree.

Well U-784 caught my attention and I couldn't resist...

Had two of these ultra rare 5" Stocking Dealer Specials 625-5 in .45 Colt at one time and foolishly sold them last year on the EE. These are rare has hens teeth, only 1550 made in 1993 only. They are fetching big bucks in US auctions when they show up.

One is at $2000 on gunbroker right now with 4+ days left on the clock.

Good catch Harry, I was sorely tempted by that as well, but I already picked up a 657-2 and 625-2 in the last few weeks, my budget was protesting. Glad you got it. TC

Thanks TC!

I also enjoy my 625-2 Model of 1988 and felt the guilt after selling two boxed/papers SDS .45 Colt 625-5's last year. Glad I found this one for a price I couldn't resist, way cheaper than the ones I bought few years ago.

Remains to be seen what happens to the Sigs. With the info provided by HC, someone may just go ahead and buy since they're seemingly hard to come by.

Well, the 210 that was at $3000+ tax is sold so I guess it wasn't over priced after all.

As the owner of a decent P210-2 with two mags and a Swiss army holster that makes me rather happy. :d

While they aren’t Glock common I wouldn’t classify most of them as hard to come by. Some variants like the -5 LS and -8 are certainly hard to come by but M/49’s, -1’s, -2’s and -6’s are quite available. Several dozen pop up in the EE annually, CSC seems to have a never ending supply of them, and more are brought into Canada every year courtesy of Euro gun laws limiting home markets.

As with anything no longer made condition is everything. In that I think these ones are lacking. If pricing really has gone Python and $3k is the going rate for a well used -2 with one mag I’m envious of those who held onto theirs longer than I did.

Wouldn't mind an -5 LS or 180mm. The LS are huge bucks these days. I've never seen and LS or -8 for sale in Canada. CSC had a -5 180mm for $5700 which was sadly out of range.

If there is only one for sale it only takes one buyer. Market value is whatever a willing buyer is prepared to pay at that particular point in time.

Maybe I should put up my only one in existence Alberta Python, and see if that one buyer is out there...was thinking of upgrading my Porsche Cayman to a newer 911...;-)

Sounds like a plan to me.;)

I'm actually summer car shopping right now and older Boxsters are on the list. How real is the IMS thing?

The intermediate shaft bearing is an issue, but more so with older models. Definitely research the year/model you are looking at, see if the upgrade has been done if called for. It is a pricey fix and a common on the older Boxster. Having said that, I'd still recommend one all day long.

No doubt. Last -5 LS I saw was listed for $25k USD; I’d rather have a plane.

That one buyer is out there as he is missing yours to complete the collection. Does the Cayman have anchors for 3 carseats (inside/outside....doesn't matter)? If it does, I may be in the market, lol!
