As the title says i'm looking into 1911's. Mostly 5 incher, chambered in .45 in the 1000 ball park.

Thing is theres so much manufacturer i'm kinda lost i'm just looking for the best value for my penny in the process.

I think i've looked at them all. So far the S&W e series and the Springfield's are my best bet.

caramel is selling a barely used R1 with CT grips for $1,000, new these were $1400. I have the same gun and it is tight and shoots very accurate.

Don’t forget to look at a Colt.

Oh i've looked at them, $$$, the government model (a1 old style) is more or less 1300 but it kinda feel old school (i know .... 1911 right... i mean vs other "rebranded") then gold cup hits the 1900-2000$ and most retailer doesn't have them or out of stock (same story with springfield but more choices)

I've seen it, looks like he's selling a whole bunch. I quite don't know how i feel about Remington. I've read that "enhanced" models are nice, i'll look some more into it, thanks.

This is the Carry Commander model...

I have the Ruger SR1911, have for 4 years or so now. Love it. They had an issue with the front site coming off, not sure if that is still an issue or not, as I never had that issue.

Hope I didn't jinx myself there. lol

you are more than welcome with any experiences

Personally, I think SAM are the best deal for the money. I own two, and will probably pick up another at some point. Not sure about norinco steel these days, but the older GI models were THE BEST value.

Been happy with my Springfield TRP. The Ruger SR1911 is also very good value for money.
