Anyone else thinking of picking up an NR semi or two in the next couple of weeks, just in case the antis hold sway given the current climate? I'm thinking of a bullpup (Tavor or X95) and an ACR, anyone else having these thoughts.

With the rumblings south of the 49 we may also see prices rise here if the Trump slump comes to an end. I would purchase if the funds were available.

Yeah, always planning to purchase a new gun. You see, its the darndest thing... all my handguns and semi auto “assault style” rifles were lost in a fire.

No, because the way that the backwards b.s. laws in Canada work, they don't give a sh*t if you already own it. Once they restrict it or prohibit it... it's still a restricted or a prohibited... they don't care. I actually don't own anything semi in a center fire for that reason. As soon as I buy one, they will screw me. That's how much faith I have in the government of the peoples republic of canuckistan.

Gun control works, then.

Americans get grandfathered possession as they have much stronger property rights. Here they tell you that legally purchased property is no longer legal and you must turn it in for destruction or face charges. Oh and you won't be compensated for it. That said, for every one of us who owns a thing they would like to steal from us, they have to realize they are burning that potential vote. If enough of us own that thing then the potential to lose votes may garner some attention.

What a defeatist attitude. #Shame

They already have you in line and under control then! Can you imagine if we all caved in like you? Get up, buy a semi and start writing letters to the Gov. telling them what you want and what you don't want, they do work for all Canadians after all! They need to be reminded of that once in a while.

Additionally, I would purchase as many bits and pieces for your centerfire rifles as possible. Look at the writing on the wall. Gun reform changes in the wake of the Florida shootings. Does anyone think this is going to somehow be favorable to us? Load up, cause theres a storm a coming. Already have my order for Magpul sent to Wolverine :)

Buy your NR. Enjoy it.

But please buy at least one stripped AR15 Lower with it... We need to ensure that any "ban" or reclassification comes with a HIGH risk to the politicians. They need to understand that any assward move they make will cost them X votes. Right now, it seems X is 51,000. we need to move that needle further right, into the 250,000 mark. Only way to get there is if every one of us weary of the political stupidity invests in a registered AR15. I believe a stripped lower is selling between $150 and $300, so cost wise it is an efficient way to stack the numbers in our favour!

That's a realist attitude from someone that doesn't want hard earned assets arbitrarily taken away. Look at the bias in the media... we are going to be screwed. Am I angry about it? Hell ya! But sticking my head in the sand won't make it go away. I'm angry at every snowflake that voted truedope and his henchmen in. I'm not abandoning guns or buying guns... I am thinking it through smarter. My "high capacity assault weapon" of choice? It's the lever gun. I will fly under the radar with a higher center fire capacity than the others... and I will be able to shoot it anywhere as a non-restricted. More restrictions are coming. We can be as mad as we like, write letters, or try to shame others like you are doing to me... it won't change jack schidtt. The only thing that will change what's going on is a change of government.

Glad you brought that up... Google what Australia thinks about lever guns.... Guess which country the libs reference all the time?

Haha this gave me a great way to try and explain my gun buying addiction "I just bought it hunny cuz there gonna try and ban them" genius. If you can't afford to buy a lower/ar15 or are not invested enough in shooting to risk the loss of your firearm no worries there are lots of people that will and do stick up for your ability to have them.

doubtful if mass buying stripped lowers is going to have much or an impact or carry much weight if new gun laws are being considered. I personally have no interest in going through the hassle/cost and being subject to the issues associated with possession of currently restricted items. Fear of the future political winds is a poor reason for buying or not buying a certain classification of gun. When it comes to purchasing firearms in this country as the laws are already arbitrary at best. Every gun regardless of how it goes bang is another safeguard against the tyranny of TPTB. I have the right to protect my family and will not be handing that right over to whoever is currently in charge of bending this country over to the higher power.

I cheer on everyone who does what they can in this fight, the important thing no matter how you go about it is unity.
