Decided I want a 10/22

Was in the same boat years ago. Tallied up piecing one together from aftermarket, then looked at TacSol and VolQ offerings. Value for money for quality, plus staying in country with a Canadian company, Dlask was the obvious choice. Was a bit of a wait, and a few phone calls to Leigh, but I was floored when I got the kit. Excellent worksmanship, and a tack driver with quality ammo. My only substitute was a Timney trigger pack, but their trigger job is short and crisp so I dropped it in my 10/22 take-down. Buy with confidence.

I have interest in the Tuf 22 as well. In the mean time I am really enjoying my Ruger Deluxe Sporter with a Heavy Kidd match barrel.
It shoots tiny groups at my local range, I can hardly wait to see what it can do at longer ranges.

I was pleased with a base model 10/22 VLEH I owned. Magpul stock made it very nice but a bit heavy for carrying around.
I did sell it and am on my way to the Dar-22 since handling one. Hogue stock, heavy barrel and should be great for a hunter.

10/22's are a bit like Lego... Pick and chose the components (weight and $) you like and build your own.
If you want made in Canada stuff, Dlask is pretty much your only option.

If you don't like to build you own and are not satisfied with the factory Ruger offering, Volquartsen makes some nice stuff.

My family and I really enjoy our DAR 22.
Built one l
fairly lightweight with a 12.5 barrel, 8 oz Leupold 2-7 scope and Axiom stock so my kids can easily shoot it offhand.

Not looking for a benchrest 10/22. Need something I can shoot offhand.

It has some weight, but I do shoot this rifle offhand.
I used to shoot Anschutz 54 & 64 rifles prone, kneeling & standing.
So I don't mind offhand with a heavy barrel.
What ever you get, be it a Dlask or other. I hope you have a great time with it.

Hmmm... missed that one. Not available yet. Sucks we can't have the bigger mags... should have gotten a 10/22 earlier.

Maybe give them a call, I think it should be ready soon?
The RCMP's silly games with regards to 10/22 mags is annoying but the 10 round flush mags are still one of the best .22lr magazines out there.

I bought a stainless takedown on sale 2 years ago for $400 out the door and it's very accurate with the stock barrel, I've since dropped it into a magpul backpacker stock and also added their red dot mount, a nicer picatinny rail and a skinner barrel mounted peep sight just to cover all the bases.

Awesome setup.

I always preferred the Ruger 10 round mags better, the Butler Creek ones seemed unreliable by comparison.

I would recommend spending extra and going with a Dlask or Magnum Research. I have had two factory 10/22 and neither one of them could do better than baseball sized groups at 50yds. Not accurate enough for target practice or hunting.

Also stay away from the “target” barrels with heavy profile. Having a heavy barrel IMO doesn’t provide much for accuracy with the 10/22 and is like packing around a boat anchor.

I've been drawn to the Tac Sol lately, I've had to talk myself out of buying one every day this week. It won't be long now before I can't talk myself out of it anymore. At least they are small and easy to hide from the wife.
