Maccabee Defense SLR information and updates

If the receiver doesn't have the m4 feed ramp extensions milled into it, and it bothers someone that bad...... get the dremel out. 2 minutes work and all your worries and anxieties magically go away. Life isn't as complicated as some people make it

Aluminum is pretty soft, hence the reason they anodize it for surface hardness.
Go dremeling in feed ramps into the receiver, and you may resolve a perceivable problem in the short term, but compounding it in the long run. It’s your $1000 though...

A couple more new pics off their instagram... can't wait. The DMR config looks pretty ###y but I'm going to do more of a Recce build.

Looks like in the few videos I saw, the dust cover does not open all the way like an ar15.

it looks like it opens up about 90 degrees and stops.

Can anyone confirm?

EDIT: found a pic of it opened up more than 90 degrees, but not as much as an AR

Just got confirmation from Macdef that the receivers will come with the takedown bolt and the pin conversion will be sold separately. Too bad. I was hoping to place a pre order, but don't think I'll be buying this rifle.

Pin conversion for the front bolt? Or do you mean that the rifle will come with 2 bolts instead of pins?

If I can get 2 pins on the gun rather than a pin and a bolt ill be happy

Ah well, whats another $10 in pins. They should have made them avail for free to those who pre-ordered. But in the end, it is still the best option for a diy rifle.

I don't know. I asked him, "Will the SLR receiver set be available for purchase with the takedown pins instead of bolts/screws at no extra cost, or will the takedown pins be something a guy will have to purchase separately?"

He said, "The receiver set comes with one bolt. The pin set will be sold separate."

I said, "Alright, thanks anyway. Cheers."

He sent a thumbs up emoji.

Lol I was ready to pull the trigger on the pre order and give them a thousand dollars for some parts of a rifle that isn't even available yet, but I think I'll stick with what I've got for now.

What a bunch of whiners. Is this how all of you shop for cars? What if you don’t care for the headlight adjusters on the new f150? Do you go online and cry about it? email ford? No.
I get a kick out of these guys that think they need to tear their rifles apart in record time in the jungle with no tools. I’ve got bad news for you. Your life will never depend on this rifle! You can take your time cleaning it in the comfort of your home.

This is a firearms forum, full of firearms enthusiasts, talking about upcoming firearms. The purpose of this forum is to literally discuss firearms, and things firearms related. I am certain there are multiple automobile forums where there are multiple people discussing new automobiles and the things they may like or dislike. Just because its a cool new NR firearm, does not mean we have to put the blinders on and immediately join the fan club.

My bad. I just wonder how many of these guys would behave like this face to face. “Oh, it’s a bolt, not a pin?, I’m out” and then turn around and walk away? Lol

A whole lot of screwed together rifles have been used in a whole lotta tough conditions. Pins can be attractive but I don’t get the fear of a bolt. :)
