Polymer coated bullets

Canadaammo was looking at them, but finding a supplier that could produce bulk bullets with consistent thickness was a bit of an issue last time I spoke to them about it.

I have used some Xmetal .45 RN; accuracy was ok, but I had issues with feeding; despite maximum sizing with the lee flaring die, the finish would shave, and so would some of the lead I think they must be close to pure lead, which is ductile and easy to reform); causing feeding problems. I do like the idea, but am not happy with how they presently work.

I wither use Berry's or Campro copper plated, but I am using more hard cast lead lately; very happy with it.

I tried the X-Metal 125gr pills and consistentcy was a sh!t show as far as weight and seating depths etc. prob due to uneven coating. I used up the box as plinking ammo and won't be buying 'em again. I'll stick to my Campros which shoot more accurately out of my pistols than the X-metals.

How did they feed?

Same experience: poor accuracy and dirty.

Definitly not worth new ammo price

I have used xmetal 125gr 9mm, shot fine in my tp9sf elite and p320.

I paid $88/1000 for my xmetal (projectiles only not loaded ammo) although its much cheaper to make my own.

Interesting. I bought 2000 from sfrc during the holidays. I haven't shot them yet. I hope they are not as dirty as winchester white box.

I have reloaded and shot about 2000 9 mm and 3000 180 gr 40 cal. With the very slippery coating I have found they feed very well. On my 40 I was able to reduce my longshot powder charge from 6.2 (berry) to 5.3 and still make major. I am a long time bulleyes shooter and when I tested the accuracy I could not find any difference from my Berry loads. Yes you do have to slightly bell your cases but it was a simple adjustment on my Dillon. Several other shooters in my club have converted over. I buy from X-METAL and sometimes they have free shipping.

PPC night a few of us shoot x metal, and a few shoot powder coated. No real difference I've notice. From my experience campros were undersized. Had someone on Friday going on he found 5 things wrong with campro bullets. And wanted a year supply for telling them.

But I just finished a 1000rd box of hitek and working on another. Cheaper and better than casting. Than having to powder coat them. Never had any issues in a 1911, alfa, k100 or a glock. I only had one that didn't feed and was only because I puled the bullet, reused the case w/o sizing and was a lip.

I use them because I can just ask the xmetal rep and he will go in the locker and get more for me.

They fed fine. I was told by another shooter that the 125gr profile was inconsistent and that I should have tried the 124gr instead. I'm not gonna go waste another $100 to find out.

Yup, accuracy was sh!t for me. I used them during my Black Badge course. I had to demonstrate proficiency by shooting a 25yrd target, my first 3 attempts sucked because I'd hit the target 8/10 times like a shotgun blast and this was from a load I built up for best accuracy at 15yrds. My instructor was surprised I couldn't get all 10 in the target because he's seen me shoot before. He asked what changed and I said I got new ammo. A light went off and I grabbed my Campro reloads and shot it a 4th time and all 10 within the Alpha/Charlie.

Hopefully you bought the 124gr and not 125gr. Don't be discouraged. Some folks have had good luck with them, just not me.

Bought 115 Gr 9mm form Canada Ammo, the sizing was .356.5.
Would not feed in my Walther, however would feed in my Glock as well as my Storm Lake barrel.
Campro plated 115 were .355.

I ran my reloads through a Lee carbide Factory Crimp die as my final stage. Probably why I stopped having feeding issues.

Never Heard of JTT, only seeing a Facebook Page. Anyone have an Email or Contact Info for them? I dont have facebook so I cannot contact the there.
