New WK180-C

But wins over the plastic anytime!

Original 180b has plastic lower and ####ty stamped receivers on top. If I remember correctly, they sold for $1200 or so. $995 for better materials is a total win!

Nothing wrong with stamped steel if it's built right. Ever heard of Swiss Arms? I don't think you'll find anyone who says the Black Special or Classic Green are sh!tty rifles because of the stamped receiver.
It's not "plastic" not in the way you appear to think of it anyway. The polymer used in firearms is not some cheap Chinese toy plastic.
There is nothing wrong with polymer lowers, every heard of HK? Somehow they use polymer extensively and happen to build one of the best battle rifles available.
My Bushmaster ACR also has a polymer lower and I don't worry about it breaking. Polymer is a good material to use in firearms as long as they have steel inserts for the wear surfaces.
I have an AR180B-2 with a polymer lower and I have zero worries when using it, there is very little force exerted on the lower during firing.
Other than a bad batch of polymer Armalite got which caused problems in one production run and the odd guy who was stupid and abused his rifle there were very few failures of the polymer lower. What was sh!tty about the AR180 stamped upper? I've heard of one person who had issues with his upper receiver and that was a very strange case.
Every manufacturer has the odd rifle that doesn't come off the line built right, I'd say that Armalite had a very consistent and reliable rifle and the only reason they stopped making it was that it couldn't compete with the AR-15 in the US market and the Canadian market is too small for them to justify continued production.

Maybe this has been beaten to death already, but any word out there when these things will start getting delivered and/or see them on store shelves?

i sure hope you ware wrong on the price boost. that would be terrible..: i’m having a hard enough time saving up 1000.00 and not have the wife find out ;)

I hope the same.. our intention is not to move the price. As long as cost stays the same nothing should change, the only reason the price of the rifle would go up is if costs did as well, from raw materials, changing dollars, ect ect ect.

Well I placed my order 30 days ago so am really hoping that in 8-12 weeks I have it in my hands. I think I’m more excited to get this gun than my last full custom.

I just can't get over all the junk in the trunk... No likey.

Yea, tell me about it! So excited! I had my order in about 10 min after the pre-order came up so hopefully in the first shipment.

Not to be a #### but if you have a hard time affording $1000 you may want to reconsider buying it. You still need to buy an optic for it and a non restricted semi gets pretty expensive to shoot if you actually use it so realistically plan on $2000 all in unless you plan to buy a $100 eBay knock-off scope and you buy your ammo by the box of 20 instead of 500-1000.

I doubt the price will jump up on these unless they have to modify the manufacturing process or have to change materials due to early failures. It's an economy rifle built and sold for what appears to be a reasonable price. Time will tell once they're actually in customers hands if the price is reasonable.

It's much easier to rationalize purchasing ammo regardless of cost than buying a new gun. :p

I suspect he has thought of that. I think he can make his own financial decisions haha.

I just want to point out that he didn't say he was having a hard time affording it, he said he was having trouble doing that AND not having the wifey find out.

She might just be a gun hater........:d

I'm considering one of these as well, I think they'd make a decent gopher gun at a decent price.
