Have you considered offering an AR pistol ,either Norinco or any other maker that is affordable?

Having an AR pistol would justify my 10 rounder mags if they decide to come after them....

The pistol already on the market are going in the $2000 mark !

I know that the AR platform is already restricted but the rifle is limited to 5 rounds...

Anyway just a tought I will surely buy one if they were made more accessible.

Have you even considered just buying a 7.5” barrel amd a pistol buffer tube and doing it yourself? It’s super easy and CanAm even sells all the parts.

I wouldn't lose any sleep "Justifying" your magz...you can alwayz pin them if you so worried on it .. :)

Thats not how it works.

Thats not how any of this works.

It was fine to use my 25 round in 10/22 until the rcmp change is mind

Apples and oranges. Rimfire pistols have always been limited to 10 rounds. Their argument regarding the charger is valid under the current construct of the law just as the LAR 15 is designed around a Pistol.
That said the charger should have been designated as a restricted short barrel rifle since it was based off of a 10/22. Limits it to the range and doesn't make everyone who has a Butler Creek magazine as a criminal.

Now whether the law changes under our current govt it wouldn't surprise me

Can we agree that no one in Canada would ever call an AR a “pistol” if American’s didn’t need a tax stamp for SBRs? Ar “pistols” are not pistols and will never be pistols. They are short rifles.

What?

I have an AR15 pistol here that would beg to differ... it's legally registered as a handgun; so I don't know where you're going with that statement.

He could be right. Pistols in the US do not require an NFA tax stamp while short barreled rifles do. Make an AR pistol and throw a brace that could be used as a stock and you get around the $200 and the requirement to register it.
We see the same thing happening with the BCL 102 and the Mcabee.
The AR as a pistol probably would have shown up but ultimately would not be as popular if it wasn't for the NFA requirement

Agreed. The one thing we can do up here with 'AR pistols' is put a full stock on it, along with a longer barrel... and it's still a handgun; which is funny and ridiculous.

Id be interested just knowing the process...can you use any AR lower?
Maybe there is a thread already??

take any lower and built it into a pistol then take it to one of the fella's that inspects guns and have it measured, call CFO and have the registration changed to a pistol.
they may not even require you to take it to have it measured, depends on who you talk to and what kind of mood they are in.
