Hey everyone,

Question: Is there anywhere in Canada to find 38cal .357 JSP 158 grain projectiles? Or other weights?
I’ve been looking and I am just trying to see what is available out there.

I am loading 357 magnum for a lever action rifle. I am new to handloading and pistol rounds. So far I’ve done about 250 cartridges - 125, 158 and 180gr, FMJ and JHP using H-110. I have the Lyman 50th, Nosler 8th and this years Hogdon reloading magazine. I am playing around and testing what is best, but difficult to get out over the winter. The times I did get out were a blast!

Became curious about them once I noticed the factory loaded PMC bronze 158 JSP.
But I’d rather load my own.

Mainly I am plinking and informal target shooting but would maybe consider using it(rifle) for wilderness protection. Yes I am aware there are many other better calibers to use and I have a few already but I am just enjoying learning the process.

Cheers,

Have you considered 158 gr hard cast SWC bullets? I don't know how fast you can drive such a bullet, but it sure would make for cheap plinking. And accurate, too. I pay about $70/1000 for 158 LSWC.

I have Campro 125 and 158 grain TC FCP. They seem to shoot nicely and will likely continue buying for plinking. But I am looking to see if there is any jacketed soft points out on the market.

Definitely seems that the HP is more common. I will look into the Speer SP

I have thought about the 158 grain SWC bullets. And with prices like that, I may go that route sooner than I thought
