order in council
Doesn't matter... how would they know where are the NR firearms are?? Trust people being honest? pouhahahaa... again, they would need a positive incentive to get any meaningful results.
Incentive would be staying out of jail. If they change it to prohib where can you use it where you won't risk getting caught? If you get caught they would also confiscate all of your firearms and revoke your PAL. Is that incentive enough?
Can't wait to see the official reasons for ANY reclassification.
What reason would they need? None. The Liberal government has seemingly given them complete control of the firearms "system" and relies on them to take care of all classification and control. If they decide to change any rifle to prohib I doubt we will see any backlash.
The RCMP has already come out and said they want to ban the M305 (can't remember if they wanted to restrict or prohibit it), like they did the Swiss Arms rifles.
It was in that memo to Steven Blaney that was leaked when the Conservatives were the government.
Canada has a history of grandfathering and also confiscating, so it can go either way.
They want to ban every gun, they're just starting with the easier ones that look scary.
There will be no grandfathering of anyone and I'm good with that. I don't want to be grandfathered and then forced to either keep a rifle I'm not allowed to shoot again or try to sell it in a market where no one wants it and it's value drops to pretty much nothing.
