Hello everyone,

I have had my PAL for a while now, however I do not currently own any firearms. I was looking to get into target shooting, but I currently live in an apartment building and they do not allow tenants to keep firearms in their units (explicitly stated in the tenancy agreement). I am hoping to purchase a restricted firearm and I friend of mine proposed to have me store it at their place (he also has his PAL). We were basically wondering if such a thing was possible.

I've tried searching the forum to see if any similar posts were made, but was unsuccessful. I apologize if this question has already been answered and I missed it.

Thanks in advance,

Phil.

An ATT for the purpose of "temporary storage" will authorize storage at an alternate location. It's not a problem; you just need to apply for it.

When such an ATT is issued, it will cover both the transport to that location and the storage at that location for the specified period and, as the expiry of that period approaches, it is also extendable (with just a telephone call).

In Section C ('Reason for Transport'), question 8 ('Select only one reason from the list below'), choose reason e ('Transport for temporary storage. Provide business or individual's name or firearms license number').

My lease also says no pets, but half the building (including me) has dogs. To hell with their agreement.

I'm just gonna be the smart ass that asks "why not just move?" No point supporting the anti gun establishment.

And when you do move, make sure you tell them your reason, not just the fact that they infringe on your right to enjoy your hobby, but that by creating a soft target for criminals you no longer feel safe.

Don't be naive we're Canadian, we have no rights, only privileges.

Thanks for the info, I will definitely look into it!

Having guns at anti apartment building could save a life, though the person who saved that life would be arrested, jailed, and forced into bankruptcy due to legal bills. They would probably never own guns again either. Defending life is a scary proposition in Kanadistan.

I have one of those locking briefcases as well, perfect for pistols.
I am unsure that pistols temporarily stored at a friends house could be added to his ATT. (May be ask about that to be sure.)

Coldshot, I think you're wrong. We folks from Kanadistan have the right to pay taxes.

If anyone does not like the "K" word typed above.
It would be so nice to be left alone to pay our taxes, enjoy our property and die in peace, but no, not to be. We have to have Bovine excrement rammed down our throats like on Tuesday March 20th I don't even own an AR but I am a little p'd off. It does not feel very good to be held responsible for the actions of a bunch of sick F's from another Country. Now you know why I typed the K word. I just don't feel free. Fentanyl killed 4000 people last year & Socks is coming after Law abiding people who kill no one. May be I'll have to move somewhere worse to feel better about where I live now. There is an election coming up, who knows, a ray of hope.

Good point Sakoman, I guess I should have said that different.
We have the right to pay taxes, so that others with no clue of what they are talking about on many issues, can impose their left wing and socialist agenda on people that value freedom, or what very little we have left in this country.

Keep it discrete and no one will ever know what you have. Put your pistol case in a soft cooler bag, rifle in a guitar case etc. No one will ever know

If they ever find out. He be homeless... Says in the rules no guns, they normally mean no guns... All it take is a casing falling out of your car, to question you. Apartment tenants are nosy as hell. I was glad to move out of my apartment, but it wasn't anti gun.

CFO told me I could store firearms at a friends as long as he has the same license, stores them properly and I let them know where they are.
