What’s the cheapest AR - not chambered in 223?

This sucks for me, I bought a 7.62x39 upper and 1000 rounds of AE brass FMJ ammo, now I am running low and can't find any decent prices on the ammo again. My range does not allow steel core ammo, so pretty much all the surplus is a no no

When I run out of ammo I will likely sell the upper due to ammo availability/price

Im looking at assembling a 300 blackout upper to try something different

Have you kept the spent brass?

No I do not reload so pretty much useless for me, I shoot about 500 rounds of mixed calibers ever range trip and let anyone there that wants it take it. If not it gets swept down range. I used to keep spent brass but after filling a bucket I realized I am collecting it for nothing as I have not found the time to get into reloading

Bummer. I did the same for many years, then eventually stumbled my way into reloading, and have kicked myself ever since for not keeping all that brass.

no they priced matched tenda. if you are ordering online then tenda have them for 649.99 plus free shipping and only gst. i told reliable gun this and they gave it to me the exact price i would have paid at tenda. https://www.gotenda.com/shop/firearms/restricted-rifles/smith-wesson-mp15-sport-ii-223rem-556-16/

Tenda is starting to concern me. I bought this rifle very recently from them for $649 and they showed 3 in stock. I noticed yesterday that the price had been increased and they still show 3 in stock and from browsing the various threads on cgn in the past few days i know that the in stock number is not accurate.

Just want to bump this question ^

And input?"

My M&P 15-22 has a polymer lower, with solid molded non-removable buffer "tube", so it will not accept a spring and buffer. So no go with a regular upper. But the M&P 15-22 is considered an AR-15 variant and restricted as such. If there is a ban it would probably fall into the same category.

I just use them to get a better deal at other stores. No problems or weird stuff to worry about that way.

Its in the plans to eventually start reloading, just have not found the time, I have too many hobbies....And I want to learn how to do it properly, I made the mistake of taking someone else reloads at my range, he was shooting beside me and said try these, I shot 3 rounds and he 3rd one didn't come out of my handgun. I got a squib that lucky did not allow me to chamber the next round because it was so under-loaded it just barely came out of the chamber. Otherwise I could have blown up my new barrel, will never make that mistake again!

Ammo availability and price is a big factor for me when I purchase a new caliber, there are many cool rounds I have tried that are just too expensive or hard to find to make buying a gun that shoots them worth it for me. 300 blackout is getting more popular so I think I may sell the 7.62x39 and get a 300 BO barrel next
