Hi everyone, looking for input from gunsmith/knowledgeable persons on an idea I had.

So I got one of the Canadian Glock 19 with the 106 mm barrel. I want to know if it would be possible and if it would work to tread the factory barrel and install a TBRC micro comp.

There is .250'' of barrel sticking out of the slide. I know that getting an aftermarket treaded barrel would be easier but using the factory barrel would be a lot cheaper.

Thanks

That barrel will not accept one of the TBRCi's (or similar) comps. You will need a standard G19 Threaded barrel, either in 1/2-28 or in the Glock Factory Thread Pitch. Super nice little Comps though!

Not enough barrel to thread, I don't recall off hand what the glock threaded barrels are in terms of length but there's a substantial difference.
Sell your factory barrel and buy threaded. I might even be interested in buying it if that's an option for you.

It could be done but one would have to open up the front end to fit whatever comp was being used specifically. I'd recommend against it but it is possible.

The most cost effective would be trading someone with a Factory threaded barrel, the next step would be an aftermarket, my suggestions after seeing them would be an Agency Arms Mid Line. But any aftermarket one would do.

So I'm trying to figure out if a gen 3 barrel would fit in my gen 4 but there is a lot of mixed comment on it... would they be interchangeable if I was to trade for a factory treaded gen 3?

Have no experience with changing a factory barrel from a 3 to a 4, but with all I have had experience with there is no differentiation between the aftermarket. I think that the main difference from a barrel perspective is the factory guide rods, but I may be wrong on that.
